A spectacular beach, emerald green water, surrounded by a jungle, is a paradise beach. It is really worth visiting, and with the warmth it is very good a refreshing bath. It's not deep, you can really enjoy it, it's a pool.

We visited this with our 7 year old. It was a rainy day so luckily there were less tourists. We could buy tickets last minute and enter. After a walk of 15-20 minutes we reached the beach. It was not too crowded as it was raining. My son and wife enjoyed swimming in the beach for approximately an hour. If not for the rains we would have stayed longer. The views from the shore is amazing. There are showers and restrooms very close to the shore. It was one of the nicest beach we visited in entire Costa Rica. I would recommend it if you in the area.

Nice beach located after the Manuel Antonio national park tour. Beach itself is very scenic and beautiful however it is slightly badly maintained. I would recommend a visit .

Ideal Park to do with Guide, hire guides with certified license what are at the door.
It is necessary to be able to see camouflaged animals that on their own would not see. There are poisonous, meek animals but you have to be careful, be cautious.
Not hiring anyone who is offering services before arrival, are scams.
A monkey bit a family friend for carrying food in his bag, wanted to take him out and the monkey got scared.
Not bring food to the beach, the animals are in their habitat and approach to grab food, mainly monkeys, not eat outside the lattice area adapted to eat.
In case of bite you are given antibiotic and vaccine with your Traveler assistance.

Great experience to swim in the pacific, a bit more wild than the Caribbean, middle of the jungle, monkeys all over the place, birds, crabs and all you need to feel in paradise, calm, less people than anywhere else, worth the stop. Sea water fresh and clean
Showers to clean up and continue hiking.

I gave one star only for the natural beauty of the park and the beach (which is five stars). The review is more about my experience, not just the aesthetic beauty of the place.
The park in general: This place is a tourist trap. Not sure if this park has quota control. If not, the number of visitors per day should be regulated for environmental reasons. I was part of a group that entered right at opening to go on an animal sight-seeing tour. There were so many people, I'd even say thousands - either way, so packed it was hard to move. Numerous companies running around with groups to find animals. Whenever an animal was spotted, the guide would get on his radio and inform the other guides from other companies. The entire experience felt contrived. I lost all motivation to see any of the cool animals because it was just an exhausting and frustrating experience. I don't recall the name of the tour company we used, but there were two guides and even they seemed frustrated - there's simply nothing to be done when there are so many people. At the same time, the tour felt cheap because it was completely impersonal. Admittedly, the guides do a great job of finding creatures and pointing them out to you, as well as advising the best position to take photos for those with large camera setups. This guided tour was one of the few instances where I did not tip at the end because I was just done with the experience and wanted to leave.
Regarding the beach: Once on the beach, you somewhat get away from the crowds and can find a nice spot to sit down and relax. Plenty of shade under the trees. Bring water and sun block. If I recall correctly, there were places that sold drinks and food.

We had the opportunity to spend the day on this beautiful beach we were not disappointed at all! The beach is clean and well appointed. Watch out for monkeys who can come and steal your belongings.

Best National park ever! We were indecisive if tortuga island or Manuel Antonio National park. From San Jose 3 hours. I’m glad we chose the park.
Many restaurants with beautiful views as you get closer. Be careful with all the guys on the street trying to make you park where they designate you. They will charge you a lot more. Don’t fall for it. Keep going… there is an actual parking space near the entrance. Paid USD $10. You will be asked by many if you need a tour. We didn’t and in all honesty I don’t think you need one. So we only paid the $18 USD online for entrance per person.
Upon arrival, they will inspect your bags throughly. No outdoor food or plastic waters.
Recommend: jug of water, comfortable shoes (not sandals) can be slippery. I had hiking boots which helped me, later I changed to water shoes and swim suit. Walked about 30-45 minutes. We went all the way to “Playas Gemelas” part which was extremely better and less crowded.
Saw about 6-7 monkeys on our way back (it was raining and less people). Also, lots of crabs and watch out for red fire ants. *Take mosquito repellent and sunscreen.* Beach towel, and fully charged phone/camera. You will love this place!!

Not the spectacular beach that’s inside the park, no. However there’s still a pretty amazing public beach in Manuel Antonio which is accessible 24/7 and though busy, it’s not overly crowded.

Is this a suitable swimming beach for a family including a 9-year-old? Are there times of day when the waves and riptides are safer? Any other safe swimming beaches between there and Jaco? We will be in Jaco for a few days but plan on using it as a base.

There were lifeguards there constantly warning of riptides. The water is shallow for some time and our 5-11 year olds all had a blast! Definitely didn’t go deep.

En enero estaremos yendo a costa rica y alquilamos autos, que no son 4x4. Los destinos son: San José, Monteverde, Manuel Antonio y Montezuma. Podemos tener problemas por no haber alquilado 4x4? en que trayectos?

Hola Ignacio, no creo que necesites el 4x4 al menos no en Manuel Antonio y San José lo que si deberías considerar es que en lugar de auto sea una SUV te será más cómodo. Salu2

Hi. It’s not clear whether you can pack in your own food when visiting the beach. Is it not allowed or maybe just a bad idea because of the aggressive monkeys? Thanks.

No worries. Monkeys visit the area once a day - during early afternoon. They primarily stick to the palm trees, so if you are at the bech away from the shadow of the tress, no fuss :)

Arenas blancas y aguas tibias!! debes entrar a la playa Manuel Antonio... que es dentro del parque y debes caminar un sendero hermoso con fauna y flora !!
