Loved the whole experience entirely. Very much appreciated the charming young man at the Montezuma booth where we booked and the rest of the attentive and well trained staff on the boat. Met and chatted with very interesting and multinational travellers. The snorkelling was fun and I loved both locations we snorkelled at.
One of the highlights was seeing a pod of playful dolphins as we boated to Tortuga island.

We really liked it, it was an unforgettable experience. Very nice guides, and especially Heber. And it was amazing. We really liked your explanation about the chemical reaction of planktons and bioluminescence.

We took a snorkeling tour to Isla Tortuga. Athough it had been raining and the visibility for snorkeling was poor, there were so many fish and they were so close to the surface that we still saw a lot. No information about snorkeling nor types of fish was provided. It was really not a guided tour, just transportation and food. After snorkeling we had an excellent lunch on the weird, very touristy beach at Isla Tortuga. It was raining and we were all cold, so we headed back before long. On our return journey we were super lucky. We saw a mother and calf humpback whale, breaching and waving. The waves were large and at times it was a bit scary, but the boat pilot did a great job and we all made it back safely, although some passengers were definitely a bit shaken.

We found the excursion to Turtle Island very good. Very nice and attentive staff and the food was very delicious. Experience that we would undoubtedly repeat.

We booked an all day tour to Isla Tortuga It was beyond what we had expected. It included boat ride to and from island, stops for dolphin watching, 2 stops for snorkeling, stops to view important rock formations and preservation of islands. Tour included delicious fresh lunch cooked by chef Rudy, exploration of island and educational information on Costa Rica, islands, species that live on islands and any other questions we had. Our tour guide Evert was very knowledgeable and answered all questions. Absolutely amazing experience, highly recommend.

Beautiful walk around Turtle Island, the guys were super attentive. We took the ride with my family and had a very nice day. Great variety of fish in the snorkel

BE CAREFUL!
Couldn’t imagine this could still happen in 2024. We booked the taxi boat transportation for 2 from Montezuma to Jaco (44$ for each). Turned out the boat was just a very tiny tiny boat, not suitable for such a long ride. It was supposed to last 1hr but lasted 2hours with huge bumps and water everywhere on us.
It is so scandalous that we have not been aware of it before, it could have been very bad if we were with kids, people with health issues or parents. Even us, 2 youngs of 20/25 in good health, we got some injuries and pain in the back during two days.
To conclude, please be careful and maybe try Zuma Tours as it seems more serious…

This is a review of the Tortuga Island snorkeling tour.
We were asked to show up at 9, then told the tour would start at 9.30, and then finally led to the boats at 9:55 am - not the best start to the day!
On the positive side, the snorkeling itself was good - the water is pretty clear and there's definitely enough fish to see (though it was nothing like Hawaii). On the way back, the captain spotted a humpback whale with her baby, which was neat.
On the negative side, the masks were not fitting very well, and for much of the snorkeling, we had to contend with several other boat loads of people, so it was like being in the water with your best 50 or so friends.
Also, the Tortuga Island piece of the tour is way too long. We started lunch at 12.30 (took about half an hour) and then had until 3 pm to hang out. There's really not much to do - the beach is lovely, nature-wise, but heavily touristed and therefore very crowded with people and boats, so don't expect pristine nature or quiet. There's a short, 45-minute trail, which is quite exposed to the very hot mid-day sun and really not much to write home about.
In summary, this tour would be lot better if they started on time (or didn't ask people to show up way early), offered less worn equipment, and spent much less time on the island itself.

I wanted to say that it was an incredible experience, the guides and the captain behaved wonderfully are local guys who know everything about marine animals, they are very kind, elute did a very good job, is very friendly, totally recommended to go to turtle island

The deposit that you mentioned is a back-up in case of loss or deterioration of the equipment for rent and never be charged more than it cost the team. This client was given the equipment in good conditions broke you the ear of the League of the mask was useless so it is charging you $10.00 dollars because there is no spare parts. The has refused to pay the $10.00 that is not even half of l cost of this mask, for this reason it stopped the deposit. Finally made the payment immediately it was returned the $200 dollars

With relation to this situation we allow clarify it next. When a customer takes the Tour of horses it consultation initial by our part is know if has mounted to horse any time this for to assign you the horse, also is emphasizes of that can Gallop low your own risk, this by when them horses by their nature are animals competitive therefore when the people them leaves start to gallop and van galloping in the group already after not want stop. If these people that they have no knowledge of horse riding or hear the initial indications of not start galloping animal is not heated and it would not be difficult.
Although is true our guide not speaks English, his English is basic can communicate is with those customers.
To these people when arrive to the office it only that them interests is find a rate low and not is concerned by have a guide bilingual which is les could give low a cost extra since not is cheap get a professional of this type.
As for the dogs in our community all have them and have never caused problems to our horses, or in the village or on the beach, but we cannot deny that there are other people outside the place that take their pets to the beach and let them wander at will, which we cannot control because we are not their owners , nor can predict when they will be because the beach is open to the public and there is no restriction in our country so that these animals are on the beach.

In my case, the horse was - due to two wild dogs- rushing from the beach to the forest and I couldn't stop it. In front of me was a saggy loop of a branch. My horse ducked down and the branch wrapped around my neck, pulling me full speed backwards of the horse. Luckily, I feel backwards on the beach and have only a massively swollen neck and a swollen hand, but I could have easily died. The guide did not care at all, and by the way, he pretended to understand not a single word of English.
I will come to you with legal claims, by the way. Due to your enormous irresponsibility, your business needs to be shut down urgently, and I will not rest before this has happened. Unfortunately, the hotels and the other operators are very aware of the problem with your business, but we did not consult them in advance.
