I have done a lot of fishing in Costa Rica, and I can tell you that the Sea Hawk is first class. From the coffee, pastry and fruit ready when you board to the hot lunch prepared while fishing, to the hard working crew with great fishing gear. My wife and I fished 2 days Offshore and while the Sailfish bite was slow we got 1 each day but had a riot with the tuna! We caught 6 the first day and 5 on the second ranging in size from 25 lbs to full 2 hour fight on a 80 pounder. If you are in the Quepos area I strongly suggest this boat and crew. Doug and Patti

If you are on vacation in Costa Rica AVOID the Seahawk at all costs. The captain and crew were the worst decision makers and most unprepared employees I have seen in my entire 30 years of fishing. I've been fishing since I was 4 years old, and have never came home on a deep sea charter without catching anything until this trip. We spent 1400$ and came home empty handed, horrible experience for everyone on the boat. There were plenty of sailfish in the water, but the captain drove right passed them even when we told him to stop. The Seahawk deckhands blamed made excuses blaming the blue water, saying it was usually green, and that's why they used all fluorescent lines; which the fish could easily see. They only had 1 with clear line.In the second half of the day, they got impatient and started trying to hook the fish by tugging the rods too early, and ended up losing all the bites during our trip. The other deckhand was brand new, looked like he never touched a fishing pole in his life and kept going the wrong direction with the lines.
Our only chance to catch a sailfish was ruined by Captain Roberto. When the sailfish jumped out of the water; which any experienced fisherman SHOULD know they ALWAYS do to escape; he actually tugged the line in the wrong direction and helped him get free. I wish I had video of the employees of the Seahawk, it would be #1 on youtube in comedy for by the other boats in Quepos Marina.
STAY AWAY from the Seahawk in Quepos, Costa Rica there are better quality and more experienced captain and crew. They make all the difference, being on a boat with a good paint job does not mean anything if you can't catch anything.

I can check this off my bucket list. Finally got a sailfish! Had our cruise ship drop us off in Quepos after sailing through the Panama Canal with friends who arranged the whole trip. Fabulous accommodations on the top of the mountain overlooking the water. Spent two days fishing and the crew on the Sea Hawk did a fantastic job. The big tuna broke the rod just as it was coming to the boat. The crew came to the rescue and helped bring him in. Needless to say, we came back to Florida with a lot of fish!!! Would definitely recommend this boat and crew.
