There are many different ways to travel around Costa Rica. I preferred to use an Uber, which I will tell you right now has been extremely easy, very successful, and very low cost. The individuals that I have encountered by using Uber have all been very nice individuals. I highly recommend it.

Sergio is AMAZING!!! My only wish was that we had connected with him earlier in our trip in order to spend more time with him during our time in Costa Rica.
He is professional, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to spend time with. Our family, with two teenage girls, loved hearing the history, stories, and discussion with Sergio.
Highly recommended, and I can't wait for our next trip to CR and will be sure to connect up with Travel Around Costa Rica Transportation.

Spent 5 days in CR with Sergio as our driver/guide. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed his company. He is courteous, respectful and very trustworthy. I was impressed with his knowledge of the country's history, vegetation and wildlife. He took us on guided memorable tours in La Fortuna and Monte Verde. and carefully drove us from SJO, La Fortunate, Monte Verde to Manuel Antonio. I would absolutely, without a doubt recommend our friend Sergio to take you on a custom tour of beautiful Costa Rica.

We came across Costa Rica transportation and guides while planning our trip to Costa Rica we hide their services to drive us in between cities and each time the driver showed up on time with a clean car on the drive they were very helpful showing us the sites along the way and stopping as we needed them to be all of our interactions were pleasant and I’d highly recommend if you were planning a trip to Costa Rica to look them up

Sergio and his team were fantastic. We arranged several shuttle rides to get our family of 5 to various places and they were always on time, the vans were clean and comfortable, and we felt very safe and well taken care of. We will absolutely use them again when we go back to Costa Rica. I highly recommend!

Sergio and his Partner Carlos are very accommodating and easy to deal with. Flexible and fair prices. They know their country and how to drive the difficult roads. We used them only for transportation but they can help you plan and book tours as well. Sergio was particularly patient and eager to help to make sure we were well taken care of. Their vans are comfortable but not luxurious. However, safety first and these guys did a fantastic job taking care of my family!

Sergio organized our family trip to Costa Rica for the Holidays. It was the best trip we ever had as a family.
I decided to work with him after I read the reviews on TripAdvisor and was extremely pleased. He listened to what we wanted to do and organized an amazing itinerary for us. He is very nice and very responsive and made the process so easy and smooth.
He assigned us a great guide, Fabian, that stayed with us and drove us during all the stay. Fabian is extremely knowledgeable, a very nice person and knew the best places to eat.
I highly recommend that you work with Sergio if you want to make the most of your vacation in Costa Rica, I will certainly use him again and already recommended him to my friends.
Costa Rica is a beautiful country, with amazing people and so much variety and fun activities. A perfect place for family vacations.

In the words of our children “Sergio made our holiday the best holiday we’ve ever had”!!!!!! His knowledge is limitless, his love for his country is contagious. He organised all our trips and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Sergio for helping us make memories that will last a lifetime, we cannot wait to return!!!!!!!

Sergio was an amazing tour guide. Before we arrived he recommended hotels and things to do. Very helpful. Sergio was excellent. He was on time everyday, booked our tours, made sure our personal items were safe and most importantly made sure we were safe. I highly recommend Sergio if you want to explore Costa Rica. We have reservations to stay at the The Parador Resort near Quepos. We are flying into San Jose and not sure if we should take a flight to Quepos or rent a car. We love to explore and will want a vehicle in Quepos to explore the coast. So would you advise to get the car in San Jose or Quepos. Is it less expensive to rent a car or fly? Any advise or suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi! Thank you for your question, first of all the driving time and on paved roads from San Jose to Manuel Antonio is around 3 hours on normal traffic conditions, the flight time is around 40 minutes and I can have a car waiting for you there.
It is a great idea to have a car down there if you are spending all your holidays in that area and also since you are staying at the Parador Hotel which is a bit out of the way.
With a car you will have the freedom to explore nearby beaches and other attractions, with the good roads south you would be able to to drive to Dominical, Uvita, etc.
Also consider that we can provide private and shuttle services anywhere you need.

I have sent 2 long messages through your website 2 weeks ago and again last week. I haven't heard back from anyone. You have been highly recommended by some family members and I am anxious to reserve a custom tour for April. Below is the message I have send twice. My name is Jill and my home number is 303-694-0646 Colorado, USA.
Some of our family members took a customized tour with you and loved it (listed under Amanda Brown-April 2015). We would like to take a similar tour in April 2016 arriving Friday, April 8, 2016 at 12:20 pm and leaving Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 11:40 in the morning. We would really like to have Orlando Vargas as our guide because they raved about him too. We would want Orlando throughout the first 6 days as our guide and driver until we get to the beach place. We would also need transportation back to the San Jose airport on Sat the 23rd.
We are a party of 5: Spud Van de Water (grandpa), Jill Van de Water (grandma), Robert Gregson (son-46) and 2 grandchildren Cory (11) and Addy (10). We are all adventurous and easy travelers. We would like to leave San Jose as soon as possible and spend the evenings of April 8, 9 and 10 at the same place our family stayed….Rancho Margot. Per some recommendations on the website, we would like 2 rooms with views and close to the reception area. For the entire trip we will need 2 rooms-1 with a king size bed and the other a queen size bed and 2 twin beds (or roll in cots). If there is any place that has a suite that would accommodate all of us together that would be wonderful too. For the nights of April 11-12 we would like to stay at the La Carolina also from Amanda’s itinerary. Note: if the Rancho Margot or La Carolina are not available or you suggest someplace better, that is fine too. We just know that Amanda and family were very happy with their accommodations. For the last 3 nights April 13-15 we would like to stay somewhere on the beach so we can walk from our room to the beach without needing transportation and crossing any roads/highways. We would like the beach to be kid friendly (sand and not a surfing paradise) and also to have a pool for those not inclined to the beach.
Within all this, we would like to go horseback riding, rafting, zip lining, exploring the rain forest and whatever you would recommend. We were advised by other travelers not to go on the “slow boat ride”! We really like resorts that have meals included or available. Both La Carolina and Rancho Margot sound great to us.
Please let us know if this is workable. We would like as estimate of the cost and other information that would helpful for us to plan this trip.

There is a great horse back ride near here in Villa Colon this is at a ranch and the drive there is around 30 minutes.
Regarding the manipulation of a Sloth this can be hard since we personally do not recommend any manipulation of wild life due to our Ecotourism Policy and certification of Sustainability, there is however a good chance at a Sloth Sanctuary located on the Caribbean Coast, this is around 2 and half hours from San jose and if you are willing to do this you most plan it as a full day trip.

We would like to know what tours are available in mid/late April, 2015 (2-8 people). We are flexible on the amount of time we will spend, but are thinking about spending 7-10 days. Interests include hiking, wildlife viewing, zip lines, volcanos, horseback riding, rafting, etc.). Please share anything you might have (brochures, customized tours, costs, etc.). Our group will be spending time at a business meeting at the JW Marriott Guanacaste (arrive 4/23 & depart 4/26), and would like to arrange extra time around those dates (either before or after).
