The perfect antidote to the gluttonous 5 star hotels…tranquil oasis amongst rainforest where you can spend a few days getting back to nature. The accommodation is simple which perfectly complements the experience and environment. V friendly staff and atmosphere. This was our first time white water rafting, and to do it surrounded by miles of dense rainforest…well, it doesn’t get much better. Bring good bug repellent, binoculars (so you can spot wildlife from the restaurant), two sets of dry clothes (clothes do not dry quickly in the forest) and trainers. A perfect interlude to 5 star luxury…a mix which allows you to truly appreciate both.

We took a rafting trip with Jorge, and it was a great time! Not only was he an amazing rafting guide, but Jorge was so knowledgeable about all the local wildlife. The rafting was fun and had some very exciting moments! We took a little break to hike to a gorgeous waterfall and got to dive in and swim in a little lagoon and let the waterfall rain down on us! We did have a little capsizing moment, which was a BLAST! It was a total rush to get dumped in the cool water, but we all felt completely safe and in good hands. The lunch provided after the trip was fantastic, too! The employees at the restaurant even offered to show us some local wildlife, a PORCUPINE which walked up nearby while we were eating! The scenery was gorgeous, the transportation to and from the river was fun, and the day was just all-around a great time! If you’re considering this trip, just do it!

It seems they have gone bankrupt unfortunately, I did a tour with them in 2020 and it was fantastic, but they no longer answer messages or send quotes. It's quite sad.

Very much in the jungle but an INCREDIBLE experience. We did a 2night, 3day trip and it genuinely was quite an experience! First day we were picked up from our hotel and transferred to the river. Be aware, you take what you need for a couple of days only and your big bags will be reunited with you at the end. Sun cream, bug spray, water bottles, wet clothes/shoes, dry clothes, walking boots and jungle night time clothes are a must. We hadn’t white water rafted before and were happy to be in a boat with a family for the whole experience, aka it felt super safe while being amazingly good fun. Rafting into the lodge was easy and lasted about 2hrs. The lodge is in the jungle, amazing views, pools to swim in, food and service was excellent - I did find it quite challenging with spiders, snakes, bats etc but I didn’t even get a mosquito bite. Day 2 was an idilic day reading and enjoying the hammocks while others in the group went on walks and took advantage of the zip lines. Day 3 stole the show for me. After feeling very nervous about the 3/4 rapids, I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! Safe, assured, the guides knew the river and we worked with them to make sure we got the most from it.
I would highly recommend this trip, be adventurous and these guys make it a safe and exciting trip!

The two day trip was the perfect pace and perfect amount of time to have fun and enjoy the river. The guides are knowledgeable and make sure you feel safe and keep safe.

If you go to Costa Rica, you absolutely must do this trip. Tone of the best experiences of my life. The rafting was fantastic fun, and the lodge surrounded by nature is utter bliss.

We did a one day trip on the Rio Pacuare. Our guide was super friendly and the trip was a ton of fun. Included breakfast and lunch and many miles of amazing scenery and whitewater fun.

Unforgettable experience , 100% recommended to everybody in love with the nature and the good vibes.
Both of our guides Gustavo and Esteban have a lot of knowledge about Wild life, environment, culture.
they did an excellent job hosting us for 2 days, cooking delicious meals, and giving us all the briefings and the tips for raft the Pacuare river following all safety procedures and having fun all the time.
The Pacuare river is an amazing place to explore, the lodge is located in the middle of the rainforest surrounded by waterfalls just 5 minutes far from your bungalow.
We’ll love to come back and visit you again guys you rock thanks for everything. Also massive thanks to Raul our safety kayaker for helping out on the last day.

This was the most fun, exhilarating and amazing adventure! As a first time white water rafter I was quite apprehensive but our guides Christopher, Estefan, and Diego in the kayak made this the trip of a lifetime! We felt so safe in their very capable hands. Their vast river rafting experiences were demonstrated fine and again as we negotiated Class l-lV rapids. Not only did they drive, instruct and guide us but they were also magnificent t cooks serving us a total of 5 meals on our overnight adventure. The jungle lodge was a huge bonus and Christopher and Estefan even guided us on an afternoon hike to 2 waterfalls. Such a great team and such a wonderful time. Rios Tropicales is number one with me and we would highly recommend!

Hi, We are considering this rafting excursion on Costa Rica next month. My wife is hesitant about it only because she is not sure of the physicality of the activity. What is your advice? Is it a heavy physical activity?

The Pancaure River was a pleasant white water trip -- much milder than what we were used to in the US. They took us to the raft and picked up the same -- no hiking up or down. The river was mostly II-III with a couple of maybe IV's, but nothing that an average person would not enjoy. It was fun, but not a bit challenging. Note: they offer a two day and a one day trip. The two day is the exact same river experience, the raft stops halfway and you overnight in cabins. A nice, expensive break in the 4-5 hour trip. Also, the Pancuare is very east, much of the CR recreational area is central/west. It took us 5 hours to get from Pancura to Arenal due to distance and road work

Good afternoon, if you want to enjoy the Pacuare River it´s only in the mornings starting 6.00 am aprox from San Jose, 5.00 am from Arenal or 6.00 am from Puerto Viejo of Limon, please take note that we can pick you up from one of those places and drop off in any of them, too. I just recently rafted the river the first of this month. My wife was terrified for months in anticipation of rafting the river. It ended up being her favorite activity we did all week and we had a full week of activities. A river always carries some danger but the guides are very good, the equipment is top notch and they have rescue kayakers at all of the bigger rapids to help if by chance people fall out and they aren't immediately pulled in by their boat. You definitely don't need to be an experienced rafter to totally enjoy this river, it will be one of the prettiest things you do while in Costa Rica. Pura Vida!

We stayed outside of San Jose and were picked up around 5:30 am. They do have very nice motor coaches so you can see the scenery or sleep. Great transportation!
