Waited for our travel companion in San Jose'. And explored the city, found this nice butterfly park. So many beautiful and different butterflies. But most beautiful is probably their national butterfly with the bright blue color.

I would highly recommend visiting the Butterfly Garden if you have a little bit of time while in San Jose, We took a short Uber ride from our hotel. From the outside, you would not know that this beautiful garden was in there. They have taken great care in protecting the butterflies and their habitat. We were particularly enchanted by the vibrant color of blue butterflies! The gardens were amazing. It was the highlight of our brief time in San Jose!

A piece of paradise in a loud city
What this family has created is really amazing
So beautifull, lots of butterflies, a look into their breeding program and a wonderfall walk in Costa Rica nature towards the river. They are invested in saving the nature in the city and protecting the river from pollution.
A must see!
We had an extra day in San jose before our flight and i´m glad i saw this nature´s sanctuary.
Wouldn´t we all want a garden like that at home?

A beautiful oasis of tranquility in San Jose with the optional walk down to the river an unexpected bonus. Well worth a visit and highly recommended.

Loved this butterfly garden. Check out the website. I do recommend waiting to go until about 10:30 or 11 because the butterflies are sleeping until it warms up in there then become very active with sunlight. Lots of flowers to see and a trek down to river if adventurous!

10/10 !! Beautiful garden with beautiful butterflies. It was £6 a ticket (foreign adult price) and I was given 2 handy info sheets about identifying different butterflies + general facts about them. It’s not a massive space but there are benches so you can sit along the butterflies. There’s also a “contemplation walk” and a small space in the reception area if you want to grab a drink and sit in the shade. Would absolutely recommend !!

Lovely lady opened the closed gate for us.
She called us elders "The Golden People".
Beautiful with butterflies inside the fence, but trashy and unsightly outside. Should be cleaned to get more visitors there.

What a beautiful way to see nature !
This was a hidden gem for sure 🦋
Seeing the beautiful butterflies and especially the costa Rico national butterfly 🦋.
Easy to walk through and Also there was a hidden treasure, a trail leading down to a waterfall!

A nice little butterfly garden a short walk from our hotel. My kids enjoyed it, and they have a few hiking paths that were lovely.

A lovely way to spend a few hours. The butterflies are amazing, it's a beautiful corner of San Jose. We did the river walk which we really enjoyed and got to see some monkeys in the zoo next door.

We are open! The cafe as restaurant is no longer active but we have coffee and cookies.
