I’ve practiced yoga off and on in many places and in many styles including NYC, Pennsylvania, different places in Costa Rica, and this is my favorite place! I’ve been attending classes when I’ve been in San Jose Costa Rica since Krama opened in 2006. Esteban is a great teacher and practitioner. Janka and some of the others I’ve had classes with are also very good. They have excellent workshops and teacher training also (I’m not a yoga teacher but have attended).I have also done a few online zoom classes with them.

I was that person that despised the woowoo about yoga. I took several classes, hated it and avoided it for many years.
A friend told me it is all about the teacher. Well, I gave it one last shot. I tried Krama and I have to say, I have been converted. I love yoga! I love the staff, my teacher Juanka is the best and Bhakti, the restaurant, is fingerlicking good.
If you want to feel part of a community, Krama has events going on all the time.
I love this place and would recommend it to anyone. Love it! Want to learn or practice yoga, go to Krama in Escazu!

I have tried several uoga stufios in the US and here. I was about to give up on yoga practice because it didn't seem right for me, then I received a 1 week trial at Krama. I took 1 class with Jose Maria and one with David and I realized I had found my home. The instructors are wonderful, rhey offer a variety of classes, the just added barre sculpt with Shauna and she is an amazing instructor, overall I quit searching and I stuck with yoga.
The stufio has 4 rooms, all sizes, a shower room and bathroom, a store and a dining area. Parking can be a bit tricky but I tend to take classes that are not during peak hours.
I recommend it. Is it pricey? Yes. It is worth it? Yes. Finding the right instructors is key to successful practice.

I have been attending Krama Yoga studio for nearly four years. It offers many diverse classes, including vinyassa flow, hot yoga, children's yoga, senior yoga, and others at all levels. The instructors all speak English as well as Spanish, and are conscious of the needs of the individual yogini. I am 66 yrs. old, but attending their classes regularly, I feel 20 years younger! Thank you Esteban, Juanka, David, Ana Christina, Gustavo, Jose Maria, and all the wonderful instructors at Krama. When in Escazu, take a class, feel great! I highly recommend the studio for travelers who need to stretch and move! Namaste. Pura Vida!
