Located along the Kenai river in the heart of Soldotna this is a nice family friendly park. There are two age-appropriate playgrounds, a basketball court, restrooms, a large grassy area, picnic tables, and a amphitheater. There is ample offstreet parking.

Located in the heart of Soldotna, this park parallels the Kenai River. There is a hiking path, large grassy area, band shell, basketball courts, two age-appropriate, playgrounds, plenty of parking, picnic tables, and covered area and restrooms.

This is a great park located in the “heart” of Soldotna. There are two age appropriate playgrounds, basketball court, covered picnic tables, large grassy area, a bandstand, restrooms, ample parking and walkway along the Kenai River.

Located in the heart of Soldotna, this is a great park. There is a large grassy area, amphitheater, picnic tables and some come with grills, restrooms, two age appropriate playgrounds, large cement pad, benches overlooking the river, easy walking path along the river and plenty of parking.

big park to hang out in the summer and lounge around. they have concerts and things that go on in the summer as well. located on the. river so you can walk along it. very pretty!

This was a very nice park with a lovely boardwalk that allows you to walk along the river. The park looks to be well maintained and clean. Lots of folks enjoying the park. Would definitely recommend.

Recent family trip primarily for the amazing fishing in the Kenai River. 5 adults and 2 kids ages 2 and 4. Adults rotated child care. Went to this park with them several times to let them do play. Very nice fenced play area with lots of room to run, climb, etc. Very clean and well maintained. Good variety of playground equipment. Thick “floor” of soft wood chips and sawdust for safety. Several of the kids there played barefooted. Also has a large grassy field and multiple trails to walk, hike, explore the local flora, and river access. All in the center of town. Also periodically has open air markets or other activities for adults. (We also found an equally nice play park for young kids in Girdwood near the Alyeska resort which is about 30-40 miles south of Anchorage; nice stopover near the main highway to let the little ones burn off some energy when traveling). Both parks had no costs for use.

We visited this lovely park on Wednesday afternoon and were delighted to walk, talk and shop around the Soldotna Wednesday market. This had to be one of my favorite markets in Alaska. Friendly vendors selling with many of them selling their own locally handmade items of top quality. The prices were reasonable and there was even a booth where we made beautiful pour paintings. There were plenty of food vendors to satisfy the appetite. The event is free admission and parking but we found some neat one of a kind things to buy. So glad I could take a break from dipnetting and go to this market. There are some activities for the kids too.

We walked into this area after walking the fishing boardwalks along the river. A very nice playground that is huge. If you are familiar with Leathers Playgrounds, then you know this is quality kids entertainment. Very clean bathrooms are close by.

A lovely setting along the Kenai River. Go on Wednesday when the park hosts the Farmers Market. Wonderful tents offering tons of Alaskan local goods. The food tents are a plenty. I can vouch for Yo Tacos Alaska. It was mouthwatering.
