This tour was PHENOMENAL!!! Our driver was Alethea and she was so very nice and accommodating, making sure we felt extremely comfortable and going above and beyond for us. My friend left an earring at one of the vineyards and she drove back to retrieve it. That’s the type of person this lady is. Every tour stop was breathtaking, each having a unique twist so it’s not like you’re going to the same type of spot over and over. The wine is extremely delicious but I would suggest you pace yourself, because it is A LOT OF WINE! This tour was worth every single Penny. Im going to tell all my friends about it and will do it again .
Amazing tour that perfectly combines professionalism and a great atmosphere. Our guide, Julian, was the best—an incredible source of knowledge while also being funny and friendly.
At first, we weren’t really into group tours, but Julian made all the difference. He was there for us without falling into the typical tour guide clichés—it felt more like a big group of friends, with one of us just happening to be an expert on the subject.
If you're hesitating about doing the wine route, you have to do it—and you have to do it with Julian and this company!
We agree that Julian is one of the best in the industry! Combining professionalism with a friendly approach is our main goal, as we love to make the guests feel as comfortable as possible :)
We hope to see you again soon!
We had the most awesome time loved it!! Lunch was amazing and the experience was super personalised and the guides were awesome. We were a large group of 30 ppl and they did an amazing job.
This tour is highly recommended! The tour takes in 3 beautiful wineries in Franschhoek and 1 in Stellenbosch. Everything is well arranged. There was a lot of explanation about the region and wines and because of the small company you easily connect with the other people (I did the tour alone). Occasionally they change wineries, so I would definitely do the tour again!
Our guide Julian, was entertaining and informative but we were all four very disappointed at two of the farms we visited. The good ones were Simonsig and The Mitre. Disappointing were Annandale and one which name we can’t remember but had lunch at. We definitely feel that we didn’t see the best Stellenbosch had to offer and in all honesty would not recommend this tour. Also, the tour starts in the Cape and a pick up is offered in the website in Stellenbosch but apparently this is not offered anymore and should be taken off. Thanks to our guide who agreed to drop us off in Stellenbosch.
Our guide Jaz was fabulous. He was chatty, amenable and knowledgeable about the area and wineries visited. The 4 wineries visited ranged from a large conglomerate to a small family run winery. The lunch was delicious and the other guests on the tour were great. A really nice way to see the area.
Our family had an amazing time participating in the full day wine tour in Stellenbosch and cape town. The tour was excellently organized and each stop (4 total) was very smoothly run. We greatly enjoyed the level of attention put in by both the organizers and the vineyard staff at each stop. Our group happened to have the owner and manager of the tour join for our day long events and they were a pleasure to be around. They added great insight into the region, wine tasting tips, and an overall fun atmosphere to our tour. We would all highly recommend this experience if you are visiting Cape Town and are interested in wine even the slightest bit!
Wow! Our owner and manager really know how to make a great day, an even greater day! But of course, the wine tours would be nothing without our beloved tour guides and estate managers :)
We really hope to host you again, and are so glad you enjoyed this soulful experience with us!
Our guide Alethea was fab. Very friendly and chatty and gave us lots of info. We visited 4 wine estates all a bit different from a larger, to a small family run, one that runs as a farm and one owned by an ex Springbok. We tasted with different food pairings which was enlightening. Found out so much about different wines.Had a great lunch and very enjoyable day. Would highly recommend.
Thank you for your review, we are so glad you had a fab day! Alethea really is such a kind and welcoming soul, and our wineries never fail to impress! Hope to see you again soon :)

Hi, I am staying in Misty Cliffs just South of Cape Town in December. My wife and 2 teenage 17 and 19 year olds will be traveling with my wife and I. We are only staying for 6 days but keen for one of those to be spent at local vineyard. Which one would you recommend? I’d be grateful for any guidance on how to spend our limited time. Thanks

Hi, wine tours take you through 6 different vineyards and even though it seems like a lot of wine tasting it works really well! Out of 6 that we visited I would definitely recommend Mitre's Edge in Stellenbosch - their wine was delicious and it goes well with cheese. Since you are going as a family I would also recommend Middelvlei wine estate. You can sit down and eat at their restaurant, have a tour of their wine making facilities and try the famous South African Pinotage. They have farm animals and provide accommodation, in case you would like to stay the night. Unless the teenagers get bored of seeing too many vineyards I would definitely recommend the whole tour! Enjoy! : )
Probably not best to join a group tour, but contact Wine Flies and ask about a private tour, mentioning you have a baby. I'm sure they would be more than accommodating
"Please speak to us should you like us to design a tour that fits your preference. We have lots of experience not just in the wine lands but all areas around Cape Town. Once again, we guarantee the tour to be unique and memorable. Contact us at info at wineflies co za"
Goodmorning
I would like to make a wine tour. what plans do you propose in the western Cape for the next December?
how many wineries in a day, some costs, transports, lunch.
Thank you very much
Lorenzo
We made our plans through Ursula at our Hotel, The Rouge on Rose hotel in Capetown. She set us up with our Wineflies tour, our Day Tour of the Cape and gave us excellent suggestions for the time we had to spend.
One thing we did not do and would do if we were there again...We would spend two days in Stellenbosch itself. We only drove through it while on our wine tour. It's a lovely place and I found myself wishing we'd allowed time to stay there.
Another thing we didn't do and would if we have another chance is to drive through the Garden Route. Along those lines, please do not miss the chance to go to Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens in Cape Town. It's easy to get to by one of the Tour Busses and you should spend the entire day there. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, even in the off season. I can't even fathom how they might look when everything is blooming! There are wonderful shops and eateries galore. Plan to have breakfast there as well as a late lunch with wine in the afternoon. Just spectacular.
Good luck Lorenzo!
