De trekking met Somat was super! De tocht begon in de stromende regen, waardoor Somat de route aanpaste om het toch veilig te houden, maar zeker niet minder mooi. We hebben genoten van de prachtige natuur en de mooie, authentieke warung onderweg.
Somat is een uitstekende gids, met veel kennis van planten en dieren. Zijn Engels is ruim voldoende om alles goed over te brengen.

The web description is accurate. Somat is always on time, knowledgeable and speaks English well. I recommend the treks because you will need a guide for the paths without getting lost. The experience will be one of the top memories of my trip.

We booked the more difficult "mountain trekking" tour from Candidasa to Somat's home town. It was pretty steep and ended up being quite the exercise. But it was worth every drop of sweat: the jungle, the waterfall, the view and finally visiting the small village was absolutely amazing. Can highly recommend this trip if you're fit (good trekking shoes are a must!) and want to experience something authentic.

We were picked up right on time from or guide Somat and his brother who was our driver. We started the easy hike through a traditional village and jungle to rice paddies. Somat told us a lot about the plants and farming. We stopped at a small Warung with a stunning view for coffee and snacks.
We then had the choice to extend the hike to go to another beautiful spot (which we did).
We enjoyed the tour with Somat, he is really funny and can tell you a lot about the surroundings.
After some rain part of the Jungle paths were slippery, so sandals are really not recommend ( my trail running shoes were perfectly fine for the hike).
Highly recommended if you want to get off the beaten path.

10/10! If you’re not sure just do it. I’ve been to Bali many times but never experienced something like this. The mountain trek is a little bit difficult, but Somat knows everything about the nature and the area and will take good care of you. The views are amazing. You can also contact him for other hikes around the area.

My boyfriend and I did the mountain trek in Candidasa with Somat. He picked us up at our hotel in Sanur well on time (keep in mind you have to pay extra because this is outside their pickup zone). Somat is a very nice guy and offers a great way to explore traditional Bali as he takes you to where his family lives in the mountains. He also offers a helping hand during the trek where it is more difficult/slippery. The trek itself we rate as moderate difficulty, do keep in mind you need proper shoes and have to climb some parts, but it is doable as he helps you.

Op 2 trekkings geweest met Somat. Wat een prachtige trekking door een mooie omgeving. Somat heeft een hoop kennis van de omgeving en de mensen. Dit geeft je een goeie inkijk in het leven van de bewoners. Hele bijzondere ervaring! Deze vergeten we nooit meer!

The best part is the view, and kopi stop half way! Somat helps us when we need, takes great photos, and carries extra water for us. We are picked up on time in a very clean car, with a great driver too. They are both highly recommended.
We were very happy to start at the bottom and go up, but maybe a trekking pole will be good if we walk down the hill.

Yesterday we had a very adventurous day trekking near Candidasa. If you want to get away from the scooters and the hustle and bustle and love getting amongst nature, I can highly recommend TREKKING CANDIDASA. There are two options, the easy one involves walking amongst the rice paddy’s and villages but, I forgot how old I was for a minute, and committed to the hard climb! It is seriously all up hill and whilst it starts off with sealed roads and a newly finished path, it soon ends up being a steep climb through the forest and across waterfalls! Somat is fantastic as a guide and is quick to lend a hand through the steeper parts. The trekk ends at his home village of Tenganan where his dad climbed up and picked new coconuts for us to try. We met his lovely family and enjoyed a home cooked meal before being delivered back to our hotel. The views are stunning and Somat is very engaging and organised.

I did the gentle trek starting at Tenganan Village. Lovely surroundings. Great views on the rice fields. Lots of extras included (small bottle of water, various snacks along the way). Somat is a great guide. Very knowledgeable about the region, the people, the vegetation,... But also very sweet, helpful (lending a hand on slippery portions) and patient (taking time for pictures). I definitely recommend it!
