If you love monasteries and want to do the monasteries route, you may be interested in visiting this one. Not bad, but the ticket is very expensive for what you find later (the money is better spent in Batalha). The convent is in disrepair, neglected (like most monuments in Portugal), and its visit is messy since, although it is a labyrinthine route, they do not give you a map, or an explanatory brochure, or lend themselves to giving you directions (despite the expensive ticket). What is most worth it is the great Cloister. The Pegoes Aqueduct (6 km and 180 arches) reaches the convent. Also, attached to the Convent are the remains of Tomar Castle, which can be visited free of charge from the parking lot on the side of the Convent.

A beautiful monument but we were disappointed by a lack of signage.
At the entrance it would have been desirable to be given a plan of the convent.
It's complicated to get there so much that it's big and the staff is "moderately" friendly

I had the opportunity to pass again by Tomar where I had already visited the beautiful convent founded by the Templers and which was under restoration the last time I had been there. Works or not is always a really wonderful complex especially for its round church.

Bellissimo. Perhaps one of the most beautiful facilities I have ever visited. The visit requires a good half day, so big is the structure. The environments are well-kept and along them you are totally immersed in the past. The visit of the church inside leaves you totally breathless

Very interesting visit thanks to our local Guide who with clear English explained many anecdotes of the convent of Christ.
Recommendation the opening visit because less crowded and you can enjoy the place.

Always wanted to visit the convent due to my interest in the Templars and seeing so many references to it on TV and in books. I was pretty astounded with the place, we got there early so it wasn’t busy at all, one think that really struck me was the quality of the buildings and structure, you can understand the connection with the masons as it was built to withstand the test of time and that no expense was spared. The chapel inside was spectacular and really well preserved, my wife who has no interest in this kind of thing at all, was even surprised by it. Then going out to the outside the famous window was a sight to behold, all these years and something so perfectly created is still in such good condition after over half a century, it was Amazing, the only thing I could say negative was there were not enough information boards, maybe this is to push you into the audio tours, you don’t need to do this trip with a guide if you have a knowledge of the templars, it’s easy to find in Tomar, we parked by the cafe, cost €3 for 3hrs. It’s €10 each for adults, free for Portuguese residents. If your into Templar history it’s really worth visiting it’s an example of how Rich and powerful the order were

I’ve been to quite a few churches all over the world and this one just blew me away - the decor is just stunning. And the whole church structure is also lovely. Needs a few hours to see it all.

This one wows. We had a tour guide which was very helpful as there is so much history here. Stunning architecture from different time periods as the convent was added to and transformed for different uses. Historically fascinating and such a visual treat.

Per quanto riguarda il collegamento tra stazione e convento non saprei dirti nulla perché io sono andato in auto partendo da Obidos,.
Per i biglietti è meglio acquistarli online. Io erroneamente li ho acquistati sul posto. Pur essendo un giorno di lavoro di fine marzo ho dovuto attendere molto tempo perché erano arrivati diversi autobus di turisti e vi erano solo due persone a fare i biglietti.
