Gabriella was a very nice guide. She was the first one who knew about some of the trees, which are amazing. You could ask her anything.
She does the tour in both English and Spanish at the same time, so don’t be confused when at first nobody speaks English. Gabriella’s English is very good.
The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is, that I booked the tour to start at 4:30 on TripAdvisor. We then got a text the day prior to be in the lobby at 3. And another text from a different number to be in the lobby at 4.
I had to reach out to the companies emergency phone number to find out the tour actually starts at 3pm.
I just don’t think that’s great. What if we had had plans and were counting on it to start at 4:30 like it was advertised?
Anyway, other than that it was a good tour. Salta is alright. Not grand and clean like Buenos Aires, but it’s nice to see.

Beautiful place. The view of the hill from the route is beautiful, it is not appreciated being on site. Make it light on luggage. Excellent crafts for the one who likes to buy. You can eat on site. In half a day it can be done quietly. There are lodgings but the truth is I don't do much research about it. Worth the trip!!!

Very quickly there were no stops in the serro very little time to be there. They don't give you time for the cable car. Gabriela's guide. Well, clearly it's the times they give her, but very kind.

BY VIATOR TRIPADVISOR WE PAY 4 TIMES MORE !!!!!! THAN MOST TOURISTS WHO TOOK THIS EXCURSION THE SAME DAY.
We made the excursion with my wife on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, booked through Tripadvisor about a month earlier. We were picked up at the hotel by van and taken to the train terminal 10 blocks away. From there mic and then the train.
BIG DISAPPOINTMENT WE TOOK WHEN WE WERE HANDED THE BUS-TRAIN-BUS TICKET THAT SAID $98,600 PER PERSON. When talking to other tourists, they had paid the amount mentioned on the ticket, plus approximately $3,000 taxi, for a similar journey we made by van.
In short most paid a total of $101,600, at the official exchange of Argentina are U$S 109, of those present whom we asked, the maximum had paid U$S 150.
US VIATOR TRIPADVISOR CHARGED US US$413.82 EACH !!!!!!!! APPROXIMATELY US$300 EXTRA EACH !!!!!!!! THEY BITTERED MY TRIP TO SALTA.
I FOUND THE EXCURSION VERY GOOD BUT BEING ON THE TRAIN KNOWING THAT MOST HAD PAID 4 TIMES LESS THAN US, GENERATED A VERY UGLY FEELING.
I cannot find the exact site on the Tripadvisor page to make this comment/complaint, I hope you will contact me to give me an explanation/refund, I use Tripadvisor services and this has never happened to me.

The city tour of the city of Salta was excellent, we had the pleasure of having Santiago Davalos as our guide. Thank you for sharing all your knowledge and taking us to our beautiful school memories where we truly studied history, our roots, our beautiful homeland; in addition to giving it your personal touches with a charming recitation and a touch of humor. CONS:
- Don't pay the absolute bogus charge on the eastside of the flat to go onto it. The only thing you get you can't on your own is a picture of the sign.
- It's "one and done" in terms of what to do there and what you can see.
PROS:
- If you have a car, you can do everything on your own on the westside of the flat.
- It is very cool to see, especially if you are not able to go into Bolivia.

I wish we could give a higher rating, because I think the tour guide tried hard to make this a good day out. However, the tour was sold as being in English as well as Spanish, and our driver/guide didn’t have any English at all. I have a little bit of Spanish so I managed to understand some, but it was difficult for me because I’m not fluent and I spent all day trying to understand quickly enough to translate for my partner. There were four of us on the tour, in a 4x4 where I was sat in the middle of the back seat. It was not very comfortable for me because I was squashed against a man I did not know for a long drive. There is some beautiful scenery, and I’m sure the driver/guide gave some interesting information if you are fluent in Spanish. I don’t have a problem with people not speaking English - but they should advertise and sell tickets as a Spanish tour in that case, so it is honestly advertised. Then we would have known to book with another tour company instead.
