We arrived around 7pm on a Saturday. Restaurant was a little quite, there were tables that were occupied, but it seemed quite. We decided to drink at the bar. I have to say that our bartender was great, and attentive even though she had a full bar of patrons. She made our drinks perfect. As a plus they did to go drinks! Which blew my mind. We had a great time.

Very fun great service food was good. Our server was the best! We are staying for our “anniversary” so we really wanted to relax. It’s a sports bar sorta atmosphere lots of college games on a Saturday afternoon and we wanted to watch the Huskies play Oregon Beaves🏈
Our server let us move around and pick our best seat which was on the indoor / outdoor patio area… then without a pause he came over with the remote for the tv and switched the game for us the the Huskies 👏🏻. Then he took
Great care of us, kept up on our food and drinks and turned on the fire pit for us us as the evening cooled down … can’t imagine things could have been much better. Great job!

The best thing about this place is the staff and the service. I have met some of the friendliest servers and bartenders I have ever experienced. I would like to give a heads up to my server tonight, a young guy named Derek, who was friendly, personable, and just plain real. He really listened to me wanting something in a small portion to eat for dinner. I hope that the management there will take notice of this young gentleman.
I’d also like to give a heads up to the lady bartender. I did not get her name. But she was very friendly and I always appreciate that kind of service.
The food is good, but like all resort food, it is horrifically overpriced. My biggest complaints are number one, portion size, and number two, over-seasoning.
I am a small person. I am almost 60 but I am not overweight, and one of my biggest fears is becoming overweight as I age. I have been an athlete and a dancer all my life, and as I am getting older, I have some injuries that preclude me working out with the intensity that I used to. I struggle to maintain a healthy weight, even though that is not the current trend in America (and, yeah, I really miss the 80’s when being fit was hip). I have never been on the American “super-size” bandwagon. I think, given our nation’s obesity rate of roughly 38% - which is obscene compared to other nations - that it would be nice if more restaurants offered smaller-sized or half-sized portions,
for those of us who really strive not to weigh 300 pounds. Also, given the amount of food waste in America, one would think that restaurants might be a little more conscientious about this issue.
Also, I don’t want to pay $30 for a meal I am only going to eat 1/3 of.
So, I would sincerely ask J D’s lounge: could you please offer a small selection of small plates? Maybe half portions of appetizers, or just smaller plates for those of us who don’t want to waste 2/3 of their meal. Every time I go out to dinner what they serve me is about three dinners for me. I eat about a third of what they serve me and take 2/3 home and eat it for the next two nights. I am on vacation and taking stuff home is not an option, so all of that stuff goes to waste, and as far as I know, Scottsdale does not have a policy other cities have of giving their leftovers to the homeless. So all of that food goes to waste - and so does my money. I don’t need to pay $38 for an entrée when I am only going to eat a third of it. So, JD’s, please consider smaller options from those of us who don’t need to be pigs.
My next comment is about extreme over-seasoning. The first night I ordered a charcuterie plate. I figured it would be small enough to serve as my dinner. Not only was it freaking huge, but it was so over seasoned that it was not enjoyable. They had prosciutto, and some kind of salami, and may be a kind of pepperoni, and those were fine. But they had dusted the two kinds of cheese with a southwest seasoning. I could not even taste the cheese. They kind of ruined my charcuterie experience by going overboard with the seasoning.
Tonight for dinner I ordered a small salad with seared Ahi. The salad was lovely. (although I would remind the sous chef to please pick through the spring mix and get rid of all the nasty brown bits. I picked out several in my salad. And for the price you are charging, one does expect that you will eliminate the nasty brown and wilted pieces of lettuce from my salad, especially given that at home a salad like this costs me about three dollars to make and this one cost at least 3 times more. I am paying for YOU to clean the damn lettuce for me, so please do your freaking job). However, the Ahi was so over-spiced I could not even taste it. All I tasted was the seasoning. I really love Ahi and wanted to taste the fish. Perhaps you would consider giving folks an option for seasoning or no seasoning, southwest seasoning or just salt and pepper. If all I wanted to taste was southwest seasoning, I could’ve just bought a bottle of that and poured it down my throat.
So between my experience with the salad and the charcuterie, it is doubtful I will eat there for the rest of my trip.
I hope the head chef is listening, because you have the capacity to make some really great food. Please consider smaller portions for those of us who do not want to become obese and please consider backing off on the seasoning, or at least giving patrons a choice.

Wesley the bartender took care of us fully! He kept us updated on our food order since they were busy in the kitchen. He still made us feel welcome even though some other patrons caused some issues.

JD's Lounge is located on the Scottsdale Plaza Resort. They offer a sports bar type dining option for guests and visitors. This is a seat yourself kind of restaurant. There is a bar as well as dinner table and high table seating. When we arrived, we found a seat and were waited on promptly. Waters were provided immediately. We ordered chips and salsa to start, and a coal fire grilled pizza! The pizza was fantastic – you can create your own, though they do offer three popular, local options too. Options on the menu include burgers, sandwiches, tacos, and other sharables like wings and nachos. We ate here from dinner, but I imagine they are open for lunch as well. For two people to share a pizza our total came to right around $65, so prices are a bit steeper for two than you might expect. Mind you we did not have any bar beverages during our meal. You can also order take out, or have food delivered to your room if you are staying on the resort. Overall, a good dining experience.

Staying here at the resort so decided to come here for dinner and football. Our server was on break but the manager took care of us until she returned. My husband had the French onion dip sandwich which he said was good. I had the nachos which was enough for three people. Great experience.

Ate here twice. The shrimp pesto flatbread is outstanding! It has a drizzle of honey that sounds odd but gives a great flavor. The shrimp tacos are stuffed with a lot of shrimp. The French fries are nice and crispy. Can’t go wrong.

What fun we had listening and dancing to the blues band at this club on Saturday night! Service was a little slow but my Amaretto Sour was perfect! We ate light - sharing a salad but our focus was the MUSIC! Great vibe in the club, everyone was enjoying the music and the band members even joined a few of the dancers!

We had drinks here one night and ate dinner here the second night. We each had salads. I had the Southwestern salad and my wife had the Cobb salad. Both were good, not great. The drinks were good too. Typical hotel sports bar.
