This is one of my newest favorite spots to hike! You can hike the whole 14 miles or just do 6.6 miles round trip! It's not very strenuous so it was ideal for the more complaint type teens and for the grandparents! The creek was lovely and the mountains are just absolutely stunning! During the fall is the best time to go because you can see the leaves change color! Just be sure to get there early because we had to wait 45 minutes for a parking spot because the parking lot isn't very big. There are apple trees and clean bathrooms and an abandoned lodge from the 30's that housed many famous movie stars during that time. Wonderful hiking spot!

This place sounds great to visit on out first short vacations weekend. How much does it cost to trek this trail? Where can we get info about going there?
Cost =gas, food, water, trash bags, hotel or camp past the 4 mile marker. Get there early and leave at dusk. To access sycamore wilderness, go to Cottonwood AZ, use main street, heading toward Clarkdale. Take a right turn to Tuzigoot national monument. Cross the bridge on the Verde river, take next left Sycamore canyon road. 17 miles in. Dirt wash board rd. Steep grades. Go slow! Parking lot has a book. Sign it! Closest EMS is 20 miles. Cell service is spotty at best. Have fun. Be safe. Take your trash with you. And please pick up any others left😎
