A very different type of trail, more shaded and woody, limited views and elevation but all along a creek so very pretty. Very muddy if rained or snowed recently. Multiple creek crossings.

We could not access the Adobe Jack trail because the parking lot -- very limited to begin with -- was taken up with construction trucks and work crew vehicles during the whole time we were in Sedona (3 days). They are building some sort of structure adjacent to the parking area.

Adobe Jack and the surrounding trails make for a good place to link trails together for entertaining loops. Nothing is too hard in this area, more like a nice intermediate level. Adobe Jack and Javelina are favorites.

You might not think that a trail in the heart of Sedona would be enjoyable. That is not the case with the Adobe Jack Trail. The small trailhead near the airport turnoff right along the main drag between Uptown and Sedona can be full most of the day, But if you are able to get a parking spot you will be rewarded with a great hike. It can be a good opening act for longer hikes in the area, or if time is a concern this trail can be just right for you. It is a pretty easy hike with a few ups and downs but nothing too strenuous. We would do it again for sure!

I was nervous about doing Devils Bridge and Seven Sacred Ponds by myself as they didn’t seems well marked. This trail was a perfect alternative for what I was seeking; a beautiful view with well marked paths. I did it early in the morning and really enjoyed myself.

My wife and I needed to get out of the house and do something easy and fun. We had heard about this trail system in nearby Sedona, so we went exploring. We were EXTREMLY SUPRIZED. The trail system for this entire valley area starts here. It is real easy to find just 1/4 mile North East of the Airport Mesa Road, on Hwy 89A, and on the left, or North, side of the road. There is a small parking area for about 8 vehicles at the trailhead. From here you can link into several trails that lead you into a plethora of adventure destinations. We took the Adobe Jack trail (.7 mile) to the Coyote trail (.4 mile), to Grand Central trail for (.2 mile), then back to the trailhead and our vehicle via the Crusty trail (.5 miles). A quick jaunt through the cedars and junipers, with great views of the scenic red rocks. This trail is VERY WELL MAINTAINED, and it is an easy, to moderate hike. Each intersection is clearly marked, and has directional signage a plenty. It would be a fun hike all year round for the entire family. There is definitely something for everyone here. Be sure to bring plenty of water as you might decide to go a little farther down one of the main trails. ENJOY the views and have some fun.

This is a basin trail; it doesn't have great mountain views but it is really good for bikers. At the trailhead on 89A, there is limited parking and no Red Rock parking fees pertain to this trail.

Soldiers Pass Road runs from 89A up to the Parking turn-off; it begins near Whole Foods. This is the western boundary for the trail. Mariposa Restaurant is really close by the trail parking area.

As for the trail itself, the northern-most point of termination is the Jordan Trail (at the point where it passes on to Soldier Pass Trail) and a really nice path would be to take Cibola pass (at the Jordan Trail Head) to Jim Thompson trail in the vicinity of Jordan Road & Uptown Sedona.

As a word of caution, the loose gravel is slippery and becomes more like ball bearings as you progress. But, the upside is, the trail isn't too far from residential areas so, in the unlikely event you fall and break your ankle (like I did last year), the paramedics can reach you by foot as they scale the rocks, and are able to evacuate you by guerney (cheaper than a helicopter); cell phones work in this area.

The trail is defined as "those hills are alive" and it is a hilly trail. You have been warned, I've done my job. Surgery sucks.
