Everyone giving a review all hiked Long Canyon. There is no official canyon in Sedona called Lost Canyon. TripAdvisor should update this so people don't get confused!
I am a resident of Sedona and have been hiking here for over a decade and if there WERE a Lost Canyon (pun coming here), I would have found it!
Always be careful in what you read online!

The only problem with this trail is that the end is not marked at all. I probably went a mile past the 3.7 mile trail length. But it is pretty, a bit challenging as long as you move fast and easy to follow. And it is easy to get to, unlike the ones toward the end of the road just south, that requires a high clearance vehicle.

C'est une visite à faire sous forme de balade au fin fond du canyon. La faune et la flore sont très développées de quoi plaire à tous.
Le chemin est indiqué mais pas pour tous les chemins. Je recommande de faire très attention pour les aventuriers qui voudraient se balader en dehors des sentiers, les marquages sont assez légers et donc on se perd avec une facilité déconcertante !!

Long Canyon takes you to the ISIS rock - 3 spires together known as the 3 Sisters. There is a large red spire behind and to the left of the 3 Sisters.
This hike is about an hour in and you need to know where to go right off the trail and up and then around a rock cliff off the left.Then you can climb right up in about another 25 minutes to the 3 Sisters and sit in a rock seat in the middle spire.
For those knowledgeable with the 7 chakras or energy systems in the body, this is the 7th or crown chakra in the 7 chakras in the Sedona landscape.
As a local it took me some exploring on a few occasions to access this spot although the spires can be seen quite distinctly from a distance. I find this area unique and interesting.

This is for Long Canyon Trail, although TripAdvisor has it titled Lost Canyon. We hiked it in October of 2014. It is not well traveled, and so we pretty much had the trail to ourselves. We're giving it an average, though, only because there are other hikes we feel deserve excellent and very good ratings. It's a hike that's easy, although long, and does not have major ascent to it. There are canyon walls beyond the trees, which you can see in certain areas, and there are red rock formations. There is shade once you reach the forested area. The beginning portion of the trail is in the sun.

Trilha agradável e interessante, em meio a vegetação típica da área. Fomos de carro e o acesso é fácil. Havia um guia voluntário, que foi simplesmente excelente e nos contou a respeito da região e das particularidades locais, sem custos. Interessante.

This was a great trail for all ages. Best to go early with plenty of water. 4 of us plus a dog with 32oz water each was just enuff to last 2.5 hours round trip, but we didnt complete the hike but had to have been close. I would go again. Its really not very shaded & even at 9am by the time we finished was pretty hot. Enjoy.

For the record, Tripadvisor has this listing titled as "Lost Canyon Trail, but the correct title should be "Long Canyon Trail #122 not to be confused with another popular hiking trail in Sedona known as "Long Canyon Trail #63 which is at a totally different location.
For those travelers that are interested in hiking in nature, I would highly recommend this hiking trail. Views are spectacular and the trail is well-marked and well-traveled. It is a one-way in and out trail listed as 7 miles round trip by hikearizona.com.
Not having a GPS at the time of my hike, I am unsure if I traversed completely to the end of this trail. I stopped my journey at a tall red rock wall in a creek bed.Due to impending darkness and because it was beginning to snow, I made the wise decision to turn around and head back to the trailhead. A beautiful and memorable hike on a cold December afternoon!
