This museum located alongside the railway station at Loftus has a tramshed, workshops and two lengths of running line, one of which cross a highway into the National forest using the old heavy rail line route. It is potluck which trams will be running on any given day. Today they had an Adelaide tram running for the first time since the museum acquired it. The museum is run by volunteers and they are very knowledgeable and willing to share their expertise with visitors. Entry fe eis modest, but you can also give a donation on top to help with their work.

Visited on Wednesday 24th May. It was good having a look around at the old trams on display and being able to look inside some of them. Included in the admission price is a ride on two trams, well worth doing.

Very informative and enjoyable day trip! Easily accessible via public transport as it’s just a few minutes walk from Loftus station. We bought tickets at the entrance and proceeded to take the trams. Although it’s a standard route (Museum-Sutherland-National Park-Museum), the volunteers brought out different trams throughout our time there so we had the wonderful opportunity to sit on 3 different trams. We also spent time at the museum and were in awe of the pristine condition of the trams! The Sydney tram’s more than a century old and is doing the Museum-Sutherland-National Park-Museum route! Thank you so much to Timothy who’s extremely passionate about trams and shared each tram’s history with us patiently.
For food, there’s a small standalone carriage selling drinks and snacks . Else, there’s a cafe on the other side of Loftus station but the kitchen was closed by the time we reached (around 2pm). Took a ride to next station at Sutherland where there’s more food options.

Really enjoyed it. Had a ride on the lovely old vintage tram. I was staying at Kiama so took the train a 2 hour ride to Loftus. Get off at waterfall and change trains to Loftus. Was nice to have a break from driving. The tram shed is full of restored trans and trolly buses, some still have work to be done on them but the volunteers do an amazing job. I took my lunch and sat at their picnic area which was lovely. There is small shop for snacks and refreshments and a souvenir shop inside a retired old tram. Definitely worth a visit

A visit to this museum began for us with a train ride South from Sydney on the T4 line which was itself enjoyable, seeing all the suburbs.
The museum offers history and transportation engineering learning. The trams are beautifully restored and there's an unimaginable number of different trams from all eras and cities. Trams are once again so relevant as we see them appear again in so many cities.
Much credit is deserved by the friendly volunteers each one of whom did their best to add to our visit. Thank you.

This Museum is worth spending a few hours looking at the displays and riding on the trams. The ticket includes unlimited rides on the trams which travel a short distance, one tram to the Royal National Park station and the other towards Sutherland. Volunteers run the Museum and they are friendly and enthusiastic. There were a lot of people there on the day we went, all age groups, and everyone was enjoying their time there. A bit of nostalgia if you can remember trams in Sydney.

Nice surprise. We’ve spent a couple of hours there. The ticket includes rides on two different vintage trams, one from Sydney and the other one from Melbourne. The line to the National Park was closed for repairs. The Hall was full of tramways! From Australia but also from overseas. The prison tram was something I didn’t know exist! Staff is friend and passionate.

Located a couple of minutes walk from Loftus train station, it's a bit of a journey from the city but worth it. The museum has an impressive collection of trams with lots of information boards. The volunteer staff are friendly and passionate. The short journey on the tram into the Royal National Park was great fun.

Experienced riding 100 year old trams with a barbeque in great bushland setting between rides. History of the City of Sydney in photographs in the museum was very interesting.

Is it possible to get a guide and go into the hangers where a lot if the trains "not on display" are being housed?
撰写日期:2019年6月2日
I'm not sure either, but there are a lot of trams on display in the main building. As the others have said, the staff are very friendly and accommodating and maybe they would give you an 'extra' tour if you asked - especially if you're a member of a preservation group yourself.
