We drove around much of the lake on our way back from a weekend getaway in Eureka Springs. Beautiful scenery and views. It would be fun on a motorcycle!

This lake is so beautiful. We paddle boarded off of Big Clifty Park into some of the coves and it was just lovely. Highly recommend as a nature stop while in the Ozarks!

Fun swimming off the rocks! Make sure you have shoes that will stay on your feet in the water. Bring floaties for a more relaxed time - treading water the whole time is tiring! Our 8-year-old loved it - but he's a good swimmer!

Our family stayed on the lake in a rental house during the Thanksgiving holidays. It is absolutely gorgeous there with the fall leaves and beautiful lake seen from many winding roads around it. It's quite a large lake with lots of fingers and shoreline. It was very peaceful at that time but I bet it's really busy on the lake in the summer.

We stayed at a resort on the mountain overlooking the lake. It is really pretty. The first time I saw it, it took my breath away.

The majority of the sites are larger than usual and very shaded. Roads were paved and provided ample places to walk and enjoy the view of the pretty lake and wildlife. Hiking trails seemed to be non-existent. It was clean and well manicured, but apparently a lot of the park had recently been flooded because of the tell tale debris left behind and barricades blocking entrance to certain campsites. There area no full hookups.
Our site, #125 and neighboring site #124, although they look great on the campground map, should be avoided as they are extremely difficult to back in. After surveying the situation, we finally went around and drove into an adjacent site and drove into our site.
We would return, but would definitely choose a different site.

We hiked the Dry Creek trail on a cold January day. It was peaceful and nice to be out on our own with no distractions. It's a moderate trail with quite a bit of elevation change and a nice overlook of the lake.

Our visit to the lake was just a drive down 187 to the Beaver Dam area. This is an absolutely beautiful lake from the road--even in the winter when there are no leaves on the trees. The views from above while we drove were amazing. Unfortunately, there are no official turnouts along the road so be careful. The overlook to the dam was closed for some reason, but we parked by the turnoff and hiked up the hill to the overlook. It was just a short hike and was well worth it. There is a very nice parking area with restrooms and a nice exhibit about the dam and its history. But mostly, the views of the lake and the dam are excellent from here. As we continued our drive on the other side of the dam, we noted several dinosaurs and other creatures to our left. Look for them! Must be part of some old attraction. Overall this is a very beautiful area, even if all you do is drive.

This is a huge lake so I'm sure there are many places like that although I'm not sure where they are.

Are there decent places to walk with 2 dogs on leashes and a newborn in a stroller?

There are cabins near one another on the same property. I would suggest starting with Sugar Ridge Resort. Amazing views and there is a large lodge as well as nearby smaller cabins on property. Paved access and near dam. Feel confident they can accommodate or know which facility can do so.

Hi! I’m looking for specific recommendations on nice camp sites at Beaver Lake. There are so many choices! We plan to tent camp but since it will rain, an inexpensive cabin may be in order. Looking into sleeping cottage at Hide A Way RV and Campgrounds. Thanks!

The campsites I have seen are right on the lake and operated by the Corps of Engineers. I have no experience with the campsites.

Looking to tent camp is electric and water on the sites. We have a 3 &6 year old girls activities for them? also price information and we want to go to Crystal bridge museum is it in close proximity. thanks in advance.

There are several camping areas around Beaver lake, each beautiful. Amenities vary at each different property. Suggest you do on line search to find specifics for each area. Crystal Bridges is a must see museum. A large portion of the museum is free (no charge) but they usually have a special/traveling area that is available for a modest fee.
Do you rent paddle boats for a group of 8? 4 adults and 4 children.

We rented kayaks at Lake Leatherwood, however they do have a 4 man paddle boat available as well. Reasonably priced and a smaller lake so you don't have to worry about the bigger boats. Matter of fact it is a no wake lake. On Beaver Lake you can rent a pontoon from Starkey Marina but it is much more costly. Hope this helps.
