A very beautiful house, the guide was well prepared to answer to our questions; definitely worth to visit George Enescu's house.

We visited this place early morning and this is because the museum closes at 4 pm with the last entry at 3:30 pm (we found this very unhappy all the more we were going to ski and, of course, there was no time to come earlier/then, the visit takes 15 minutes or so and closing it 30 minutes before official closing is just like they cannot wait to go home in spite of the visitors interest). Anyhow, the museum well worth a visit as it was the summer residence of the Romanian famous composer Georges Enescu until its final departure from Romania in 1946 when the communists seized the power after WWII. It is the place were Queen Mary of Romania was attending the small group private concerts of Enescu. The sculpture in the courtyard was made by Ion Irimescu. The lack of acces to the working rooms of Enescu in the attick and the location of his original piano in room not allowed for visitors are again very strange decisions none can understand.

I visited George Enescu's memorial house with my boyfriend and we both really enjoyed it. The tour was pretty short, as there isn't really much to see, but it is really nice, especially if you mind travel a bit while walking through the rooms.
Most of the furniture pieces are the original ones and what I liked the most was that the design of the main living room, for example, was as close as it could be with the original.
Indeed, both pianos are in the garage, but don't think of it as something nasty. The garage is simply an almost empty room, apart for the pianos and some paintings (at the time we visited, there was some art exhibit there too, so there were different paintings on the walls). It would have been nice to see it in the living room where it used to be, of course, but due to some household issues (some sort of water infiltration into the floor, if I remember well), it couldn't be kept there anymore.
The lady who gave us the tour described everything with such warmth and had answers for all of our questions.
The price for 1 ticket was 10 lei (~ 2 euro).
The tour itself was probably 20 minutes long.
There are also a few souvenirs you could chose from (magnets and such) and their prices are very affordable.

The restauration of Enescu's vacation house in Sinaia was good news to me, so I came to visit.
Overall, it's a nice example of New Romanian architecture, in vogue before the WWII. The terrace, at least, is so relaxing, offering views over Bucegi Mountains and Prahova River.
Unfortunately, the restauration seems to be done on a stingy budget as the floor of the living room was not properly secured in the order to support the massive piano of the great composer. Therefore, the piano was moved in the ... garage! I mean, the piano used by the greatest Romanian composer is currently stored in his former garage, which was refurbished as a small concert hall! It sounds like a joke, indeed!
Instead of asking for more money, to secure the floor in the order to keep the piano in its original location and eventually purchase a vintage vehicle that could remind of the composer's old car, they decided to drop the piano in the former garage!
Anyway, the museum is worth a visit, especially for Romanian Rhapsody lovers.

This is a house in the traditional country style and imbued with the presence of the great Romanian composer George Enescu. The tour is only in Romanian so it would be good to know what you are seeing before coming here. The atmosphere is lovely and apparently there are concerts given at the lower level where the piano sits. Unfortunately, we did not catch one.

The house is beautiful and it has an incredible feel to it as you imagine what masterpieces were maybe composed here and sang here. The ladies from the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The tour is nice. You can also take an audio tour for 5 lei a piece. There are also some souvenirs. For a clasical music enthusiast or romanian history enthusiast, be sure to visit.

A nice visit on a lazy afternoon that left us with a good deal of insight into the life of the great composer. The staff was nice and helpful and we enjoyed it tremendously but be warned it’s not as impressive as Peles Castle but unique in it’s own way.

Whilst we were pleased to deepen our understanding and appreciation for Enescu, the tour was a disappointment. We were given audio sets in English but the grand piano was gone. After seeing the welcoming room, living room, his wife’s bedroom and his bedroom, our audio guides were collected and we were not allowed upstairs. We had planned to buy some of his EDs but they were poorly displayed in a display case with no light. Host guides were not particularly gracious so we felt we were bothering them while we were the only people there.

I don't know if we just arrived on a bad day but we were not offered any audio guides as I have read in other reviews later. Also they almost doubled the prices for an experience that takes less than 30 min. Would have put more Enescu music in the background, more explanations to the exhibits, would have opened the upper floor too or at least partially. Maybe something more in the garden...I feel that this could have given a much better description of Enescu's life and creation. It was almost like an "appendix" to a visit to the Bucharest museum instead of an independent museum in itself that could have described more Enescus life, rather than focusing almost same proportion on his wife.
