Lovely spot this, at a cost though. Think we paid around €15 to €17 euros for three loungers and one umbrella. It’s about 2 minutes walk then to sea, walking on very hot sand, so I would advise taking suitable footwear, rather than feeling like dancing on hot coals stones. There’s a nice walk along cliff top path, which then takes you to another spot on this beach which was nice.

Toilets on beach . Nice little clean beach woth a quaint hut on

The room was clean and new - no wardrobes - only wardrobe - shower walkable and new - construction site on the roof terrace - pool was broken for 2 days - morning very loud drilling and hammering from 8am despite multiple complaints no improvement - after 4 days it was quieter. Absolute disaster!

This beach is almost surreal. The water is emerald green and absolutely lovely to swim in. You can stroll alongside the shore and discover a few secluded areas surrounded by rocks. If you like, you can rent a hammock, though there aren’t many available, so most people sunbathe on their own towels and bring their own umbrellas for shade.
We can’t wait for us to visit this Spanish paradise again!

Small but lovely beach, spaces for beach beds are few but get there early and your fine for the day. lots of steps to the beach so not good for those who are not steady on there feet.

This is a lovely place, very peaceful. We walked down the beach. The waves were strong but the clearest waters. We had lunch at a restaurant with sea views and the food was very good with great environment.

The white sand beach is to the east off Balcon de Europe. It is the prettiest unban beach we saw during our trip. Getting down to it from the town takes some exercise.

Beautiful beach on the view from
The Balcón de Europa. White sand, and very clean beach equipped with showers, and off course a lifeguard. A must if you are in Nerja.

Hi, just wondering if this is a truly dog friendly beach? and are there set hours when it is open to dogs. We are coming end of August through to end Sept and bringing Millie our 11 year old King Charles Cavalier, and Chloe our 4 year old Cavachon. We shall be so pleased if they will be able to run, even if only for a limited time. Any replies will be much appreciated

This is not the beach in Nerja that people call Papgayo. That is the name of a restaurant that used to be in Nerja in this position,but the real name of the beach is Calahonda. The photo is of a different beach, in Lanzarote.

This is Spain, and things don’t happen quickly. The town council has reputedly paid a serious lot of money for the site, but doesn’t seem in a hurry to improve it. Vagrants still sleep in the old restaurant, but why it hasn’t been demolished nobody seems to know. It’s not helped by the coast path (which used to be a great attraction) having been made impassible by huge rock falls. Maybe one day . . .
