Ali provided a wonderful tour of the city - our group felt that the tour exceeded our expectations and was a huge value to us. (The food was an unexpected pleasant surprise.)

Great intro tour to the city. Value for money. Loved the lunch for 15 euros. Felt safe and guided the whole time. Tour took he whole time while in Morocco.

First if the boat is delayed by inclement weather does not mean that the visit will be prolonged, very little information and a lot of uncontrollability by the guides do not inform you of anything simply catch you pass ready you get on the boat and get off and put you on a bus with a local guide. The experience with the horrible local guide running around without explaining almost anything relevant, I was explaining more to my group than the guide. The only thing he was interested in was taking us to the points where he has the friends who give him commission if we buy something was not until he wanted to make us go in through the nose to the restaurant that we said no that we wanted to go for free that he did not let us and he did not explain where to meet (big central cafe the small square below nothing) of the four hours that he says we have free time only had 2 and because we were a small group and we already told him that enough if not stays in less, do not fool you better go for free.

Great Solo day trip. Smooth ferry ride both ways only 1 hour. Both tour guides ensured we stayed together. The camel ride, snake charmer , Moroccan food , and culture tour was nice. I was expecting a better market but over all a simple and nice taste of Africa. I will definitely use again.Thank you for the safe experience 🇲🇦.

The city of Tangiers is a nice place to see but expect that everyone including the tour guides are part of the scam to take as much money as possible off you if you let them. When you want to buy a simple souvenir you don't even have a chance to look without a swarm of scammers looking to rip you off.
The shops that the tour guide recommend give kick backs to the tours for bringing you there and you can see they are connected by their facial expressions and signals in the street that you are coming.
I did this trip once and will never go back but at least I got to experience it once.

It was a great day out to Morocco. When we bought the tickets it says "essential trip" but it was more like a full excursion day with superb guides Stephanie and Aziz. 5* lovely people, always smiling and happy to help. The Morocco itself is a nice country to visit. I can fully recommend to buy this trip with FRS DFDS. Big fat thanks from " the family" 😄

Very nice team,
also took great care of our children, so they also kept up with the tour. Booked without a big tour, but were still taken a little by the guide and could see super much within a day.

So you say, " the Tarifa ferry reaches Tangier in only 35 minutes versus the Algeciras ferries and you land at Tangier ville, in the very heart of Tangier, NOT Tangier port which is 40km
Do you mean the Tarifa ferry lands you in Tangier ville, rather than the port which is where you land with the Algeciras ferry?
Sounds like that would be preferable, since the water can get rocky....and the Tarifa ferry is closer to where we'll be.

Tarifa ferry is very easy. At Tanger Ville you can just walk into the Medina and find accommodation. It is very close. No need for a taxi unless you have booked something outside of Tangier. The Medina is really cool and laid back compared to what it used to be like years ago.
Just make sure that as soon as you get on board go to the Moroccan immigration at the left front of the passengers area to get your passport stamped. There is no immigration when you land in Tangier.

Hi. I personally travelled by car, but I know that there are many buses daily that travel from Malaga as well as Benalmadena/Torremolinos to Tarifa, and many of the bus trips offer excellent package deals to Tangiers (e.g., bus and ferry ticket combined for less than the ferry ticket alone costs if you buy it yourself from the port in Tarifa).

If I recall correctly, it was about EUR 60 per person for the return Cultural Trip. Buying just a regular return ticket (without any tour) costs about EUR 5 more, so for me it was a no-brainer. FRS also offers a standard return excursion which is even cheaper, but beware that you are then obligated to attend a number of sales presentations (if you do not attend, they will levy a hefty surcharge). The Cultural Trip was a pleasant and worry-free way to see what Tangier has to offer. See the FRS website for more details.

We already have flight to Tangier on 27 March and hotel reservations for the night. We need day tour of Tangier on 28 March, ferry to Tarifa, and bus/car to Cadiz. Can you provide/assist?

Frs can arrange the tour. We took the cultural tour. A bus met us at the port, then took us up the hill to the entrance to the the old town. Then it was walking, but easy. Only complaint being not enough time in the market area. But that was to be expected because it was just a day tour. The guide was awesome. A meal was included. Just had to pay extra for the drinks.
Then it was back on the bus for about 20 minutes to the place where the Atlantic meets the Med for a photo op.
Then to the caves of Hercules for about 30 minutes. A great place to buy leather purses and berber gowns way cheaper than in the old market.
Then off to a brief camel ride. Then back to the ferry.
Take euros. The market will only accept plastic on expensive stuff like carpets and jewelry. Small denominations is best. We will be back.
Also the ferry won't run if the wind is too high. It's a fast ferry. 35 minutes to Tarifa. Otherwise a conventional ferry to Algeciras. Maybe 2 hours.
You need to check a bus schedule. We drove from Cadiz through Tarifa on our way from Portugal back to Duquesa. The road is great. Nobody on the road and everyone drives under the speed limit. Easy drive.
The bus service is also great.
We will certainly be going back.
Try to be at the front of the line when it comes to getting on or off the ferry. Customs is really slow. Easy but slow. And it realky cools down at night with the wind. We went in September. Daytime high was in the 30's celcius. We froze waiting to get into the building at Tarifa.
So contact FRS about tour options. Others may be available in Tangiers. FRS operates the ferry from the Spanish side.
You will have an awesome time.
