A place on an unusual theme, called a museum but more a long term passion by the owner that he is now sharing. Thousands of items all very well presented and a fantastic personal tour by a very friendly lad who works there. Met the owner and had a very interesting chat about motorcycles. Free to visit but only fair to buy some of their hair putty which I gave a test drive on our first night out after returning home and that also is highly recommended by me.
We visited without informing them first (not read the website fully), but they do appreciate a phone call before arrival so they can facilitate making your visit special by giving you their time.
I can't recommend a visit highly enough to do it justice.

What an amazing place, what an amazing owner! Everything here collected by just the one man, who has led a varied life working in film & television. He invented Dr. Fawcetts beard dressing and has gone on to become a worldwide brand, having started mixing in a clean baked bean tin in his kitchen! Book a trip with Corey the guide & you will not be disappointed.

This is a hidden gem of a museum which is actually a thriving business behind the scenes, such an interesting collection. Staff very friendly and full of energy for the business. So many unusual things to look at and for those of you old enough there are things that you’ll remember, I’ll be back as I need more time

If you are facially hirsute or bald as a coot you really must have a visit. We have been waiting for a few years as we live so far away after but having met Capt Fawcett and his crew at Goodwood Revival we just had to arrange a visit.
It was oh so worth the wait. Capt and his crew are so lovely and friendly and warm. We were so lucky to have Corey show us around and impart his extensive knowledge on all things 'beard & blade'.
If we're ever in that neck of the woods again we'll certainly be back.
We didn't get off lightly though. Managed to grab a new bottle Booze and Backy fragrance, some lovely Booze and Backy shower gel and some after shave balm. All to add to my shaving soap and dish.
I think I'm an addict. lol.

You need to allow a good two hours as there is so much to see and learn about - especially if you have a guided tour which is recommended. A really fascinating look back at the history of barbering. Highly recommended.

We visited as a group and we were all completely overwhelmed by what we had seen. I will not spoilt the surprise but this is a must see visit. All the staff were amazing and very friendly. I will return with friends and family when they come to visit us. Thank you so much for a great visit.

Recently visited Captain Fawcett's Marvellous Barbershop museum and we were totally astounded! We were fortunate enough to get the grand tour by Ritchie himself. This is the most incredible menagerie of barbershop related items, some dating back hundreds of years. We went in knowing next to nothing about the tonsorial arts, but have a newfound interest in the subject! The attention to detail is inimitable- you surely will not be disappointed. Please make the time to step into this incredible alternate world for an hour or a day!
