This museum is steeped in niche, local history. Two of the original cottages of King’s Lynn’s North End still stand and they have been lovingly and diligently restored to how they would have looked inside.
There is lots to learn and look at.
I would say that it’s worth an hour of your time to learn about this important part of local history if you’re in the area.

Fascinating insight into a long past way of life. Tucked away, but worth a visit. Friendly staff: a labour of love by the friends and descendants of the "Northenders".

Wow what a gem of a find, interesting info of the area (wont say too much) good displays, and a lovely tea room to go with it, the shop was well stocked with good priced nick names

Such a gem and not to be missed. I just immersed myself at my own pace. Very warm friendly welcome by all of the very knowledgeable and passionate staff and on leaving the museum too. Super tea shop! Excellent cake.

This is a small but very interesting and educational museum about life and hardships of the fisherfolk of Kings Lynn. The town models in the museum give insight as to how many "yards" the town was built up of and how little there is now remaining. A valuable resource for capturing a part of history and a museum that needs everybody's support.

The staff who run this museum are the stars. They explain how to follow the route through the complex of buildings and serve good refreshments in the cafe. This is the surviving part of a whole district that portrays the life and times of the people who lived here when fishing was a major employer: an area with its own culture.

The museum is absolutely wonderful, it is great to learn about the lives (and deaths) of local people. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful.

A small but very interesting place. Interesting to delve into the lives of the people that lived in that area. Just be careful of the steps in the cottage. The staff were very friendly. The little cafe serves lovely tea and cake xx

What an interesting place tucked away from any tourist area. Well worth the time it took to find it. The exhibits are fascinating and the fisherman's cottages very well presented. It looks small but you can easily spend 2-3 hours here, including a visit to the lovely cafe. The staff are really friendly and the cake lovely. Mostly wheelchair accessible but a companion is necessary to assist.

Well worth the visit to see the fisherman's cottages, smoke house and boat. Small piece of history tucked away from the tourist areas.

Is there on-site parking at the museum? If not, which is the nearest car park that is likely to have spaces on a weekday morning?

So sorry Sue. I didn't see your message til now! As Amy says, there is no on-site parking. I visit KL by public transport so have no idea about car parks. I know there are several carparks in KL, so you could Google to find the nearest one.
