Amazing gardens. Thank goodness for the brown "interest" sign otherwise we would not have known it was there. Well worth finding. Grounds are amazing and so well tended. There is also access to a nature trail from the gardens. Lovely little tea room. Dogs are made welcome too.

The gardens were not to the standard as a previous visit, probably because of lack of rainfall. However it rained the day we went. Cafe was plesent.

It’s £8 entrance open certain days 11-1600. It has a nice coffee shop good coffee and cakes tho the sausage rolls aren’t great. You can take dogs on a lead and they can cool off in the river bit, not the ponds. Decent car park with shade.
You walk around a large water garden for as long as you like and it’s really quite lovely. Maybe allow 2 hours. It’s between swaffham and kings lynn. If monies a bit tight then u can take your own picnic.
There are plenty of shaded areas so cool enough even during the hottest weather
Several were using electric scooters and managing ok as it’s very dry. Prob wouldn’t work in wet weather tho

Lovely garden if you are in the area. Not huge but beautiful, peaceful, with steams and many bridges you can criss-cross throughout the garden. There was also a short nature trail and a lovely cafe for tea and cake after your visit. If you are in the area it's a lovely place to sit on a bench and admire the view or walk a dog on a lead. They also sell plants too.

Late afternoon visit, we enjoyed exploring the gardens and nature trail. Spent time in the bird hide. Unfortunately too late for the tea room, next time. There was a delightful harp recital Vivaldi’s Four Season what a relaxing way to start the weekend.

Our thoughts on entering the gardens and consulting the map were ‘Oh wow!’. We had a pleasant few hours wandering along paths, crossing bridges, admiring the plants and waterfalls and just chilling out on the many seats scattered throughout the gardens. It's so peaceful - no traffic, just birdsong.
The café just does snacks - cakes and various pasties. We had the latter but the cakes looked delicious.
It was the highlight of our week’s staycation in Norfolk and we didn’t want to leave them. If we lived in the area we’d be frequent visitors. Coral has done a wonderful job of restoring the gardens!

Arrive first thing , it was quite and peaceful. Walked around not bumping into anyone,sitting now and then to take in the flowers and water. Spoke to the staff attending to the bed very friendly. Stopped off at tea room for coffee and Cornish pastry and cheese scone.

Such a hidden gem
Whilst the weather was 34 c there were cool places to sit and enjoy
The gardens are amazing

This is a real hidden gem - a beautiful garden with meandering paths around the ponds and a nature trail through the woodland. The tearoom is wonderful - delicious cakes and coffee, and beautiful and peaceful setting, and on the day we visited, some wonderful craft stalls to browse. The garden and tearoom are also very dog-friendly, which was a huge bonus for us - our dog thoroughly enjoyed himself exploring, and getting some dog treats in the tearoom!

Would the gardens be a good destination for our Art Group to visit to paint and enjoy tea and cake? There would be about 12 of us. It would probably be on a Thursday. Would there be a special rate for a group of pensioners? Thanks. Chris

I would absolutely recommend this place as an art group destination. The gardens lend themselves to quiet contemplative work for drawing and painting plants and landscape. There are lovely ponds with bridges. The tea room is a good size and could easily accommodate a group.

It would be best to check with the Gardens first. Speak to Jane who runs the cafe and bakes the delicious cakes she serves. We would say it's a great place to paint. The colours, shapes and atmosphere are quite inspiring. (We're artists and photographers ourselves so appreciate the potential of the Gardens.) They're definitely used to groups of people visiting and, we would imagine, happy for them to paint.
