Lacock village is a lovely place to stroll around. We came across the Tithe Barn which was amazing as it was built in the 14th Century and is still standing. Great history in this village.

Free to enter and great to see inside the Tithe Barn which is just off the Main Street. Very atmospheric and worth a visit.

Walking around Lacock village was a joy and the Barn was an extraordinary building. One can see why Lacock is used as a location in many Period films and TV series like Downton Abbey, as much of the village's architecture is stunning. Unfortunately it's a living town, so the number of cars parked outside these beautiful buildings spoils the atmosphere and ruins photographic opportunities.

Take advantage of this free visit whilst walking around the village. A quirky barn. Nothing particularly special but has been maintained well.

Whilst walking around in Lacock after a visit to No 2 High Street (a National Trust holiday let) we stepped into this fantastic, but empty space. The fabric of this barn (particularly the roof) is monumental bearing in mind the tools and materials available in the 14th century.
We were left wondering if this building can be used for public markets and other functions, but we guess there are regulations and laws that probably prohibit such usage.
It was worth popping in, if you are in Lacock, but there is little to see and not worth a specific visit.

Popped in on the way to the abbey. Unique space. Not a lot to see but the ceiling is interesting…you can visit while walking around the village.

A fascinating survivor from the medieval times. The timber beams and the old brickwork are a joy to study.

Just pop in for a few minutes to read the board and look around. Not much to see, really, but it is free and a lovely example of a tithe barn.
