Small ruin with information board worth a little walk from the town.

Flying visit to the ruins of Crickhowell Castle, whilst driving up the A40 through the Brecon Beacons.
Not much of the castle left, but pretty ruin in a play area letting the kids stretch their legs.

Visited the castle while in Crickhowell not much to see but very interesting never the less. Grounds around the castle so ideal for a picnic.

Granted there's not a lot that remains of Crickhowell Castle when you're visiting but it's still an interesting place to check out. The castle is located near a kids play area and it's not far from a nearby car park. There is an information board here about the castle. .

Approached using the footpath through the park, almost opposite the post office in Crickhowell. There is little of the castle remaining, but visiting for a gentle walk after a meal is a pleasant stroll. The castle remains are immediately adjacent to the park with swings etc. if you have children with you.

A small but interesting bit of history.
Easy access. Set in a field with a play area for kids at the bottom.
Good views of the surrounding area.

Quite a history and larger than we thought. Walked up to the top of the little hill with lovely views. Was private land but given to the town and now a park with children's swings and picnic area.
