I’ve visited here many times
Food is generally creative and lush
But to pay £2 extra for gf bread is pretty mean especially as this is generally for medical reasons not choice
So today for:
an oat latte and
chicken, egg and bacon roll
it cost me £18.00!!!!
I love eating out but I can’t substantiate this (and before you tell me gf bread is expensive - I know!) but not THAT expensive!!
I’ll be going round the corner from now on

Hello!
I’m so sorry, we DO NOT charge extra for gluten free bread, only extras added to a meal such as extra sandwich fillings or rolls when somebody wants more bread. I can only think that as it’s marked as an ‘extra option’ on our till one of our new staff members got confused and charged you. If you do want to pop back in we’ll happily refund you for the mistake.
The only dish we have using these ingredients is a club sandwich, which is rather large for £12 and teamed up with a latte would come to £15.40.

Midweek lunch
Both ordered the vegetarian tajine with flatbread at £13
Arrived promptly ordering downstairs counter.
Not overly hot and extremely small portion for the price. Quite tasty but flatbread very poor quality and hard.
Not what we expected for £13 !
On the next table there was a solo female obviously working on her laptop taking loud calls and discussing business very loudly .Another table nearby three teenagers playing a card game loudly. Not a very relaxing place for lunch.
There was only one unisex toilet for the whole premises which had a very long queue. we were forced to use toilets
elsewhere.
Overall a disappointing visit and would not recommend or return.

.Your visit took place during the busiest week of the year in Crickhowell, Greenman festival. You may have noticed the extra 25,000 people, in the extremely busy town. We have no control over this, nor the other people enjoying our venue (unless they are being disruptive…we’ve not had any complaints so far) . I’m glad you found our homemade tangine tasty, it’s a shame you only posted a photo half way through your meal, so it’s not a reflection of the actual dish.

Brought my son here for his birthday last week and it was wonderful, where wlse can you can take a total book nerd for an outstanding lunch great coffee and a new book! The bookseller are so helpful with suggestions and book reviews. The cafe staff were pleasent, professional and charming the whole place is a welcome haven!

A lovely book shop and we also found a book we love. The book shop itself is small but seemed really well thought out in it's choices.
The food however was a big let down. There were no kid-friendly options. Although the staff were very knowledgeable about dairy-free options what they served me had so much coriander it was overwhelming and none of us could stand to finish it.
The club sandwich was nice and there were good choices for drinks. It just felt like the food was trying to be fancy and fell short of the mark.

Found this lovely cafe and book shop by chance. Great selection of food and much more interesting than your average menu. Had the tagine and the chicken on focaccia. Both absolutely gorgeous! Reasonably priced and lovely atmosphere. Treated myself to a book on the way out. Will definitely visit again

Cute little book shop. We also had food in the cafe very expensive and nice but nothing special. We had sandwiches and a pizza came to £31

Would like to recommend going to the shop. Great for book lovers. Such a great variety of books and some lovely covers which I couldn't find in other shops. Would definitely, go to again.
