Our Kilimanjaro tour was an unforgettable adventure for us (couple + two adult sons). Nature experience, family event, summit happiness and last but not least the intense encounter with the friendly and cheerful lifestyle of our Tanzanian team were an unforgettable adventure for us! The two guides have guided us excellently through all the ups and downs! With their experience, they always had the best tips for us and were able to shine with expertise on the specifics of the Kilimanjaro region. They also organized my (mother) conditional early descent silently and sensitively. I was picked up by the 2. Guide perfectly guided down. The rest of the family was supported very individually and safely brought to the summit at the right time.
Food, equipment and preliminary planning were top anyway!
However, the psychological accompaniment deserves special praise! We felt very well looked after in every second!

The team at Shah guided us to the top of Kilimonjaro via the 7 day Lemosho route. It was spectacular. Our three guides, John, Idi and Acasio were excellent. They kept us safe, entertained and acclimatized. They had an absolutely incredible group of people for a crew to help us on our trek. We spoke only a few words of Swahili and many of them only spoke a few words of english but we felt like family by the end of the trek. The food was great and some of our group needed special non-dairy, nongluten options so our chef Alyn (apologies for the spelling if this isn't correct) had to make two types of everything. He was so good, our gluten free members had to ask him his recipes before leaving because he worked magic with the gluten free options. Thanks very much to John, Idi and Acasio especially for a wonderful trip.

The attention to detail with the food, especially with the non-dairy and gluten-free options prepared by Chef Alyn, sounds incredible. It's great to know that even with dietary restrictions, the meals were so well-prepared that your gluten-free members couldn’t resist asking for his recipes!

BOOKING
From the first contact to the final booking, I never had to wait longer than 24 hours for a response.
Our tour consultant (Michael Msuya) also realise special requests incl. subsequent customer-specific safari. We are very happy to have him as our contact person.
LEMOSHO ROUTE 8-days-climb
We joined a group for the hike. Shah Tours had thirteen clients at the time, but we were divided into two smaller, independent groups.
Our group was supported by twenty-two porters, a cook and three mountain guides. Everything was perfectly organised under the guidance of our chief guide Calvin Shayo. The other guides (David Mmbando & "Mr Pole-Pole") also had exceptional expertise and dedication. In general, the entire Shah Tours team were outstanding!
On the day of the summit climb, we were also accompanied by three porters to motivate us with songs and provide support when needed. As a result, all clients managed to ascend and descend safely on this rather long day.
Thanks again to everyone who made this wonderful adventure possible!

Our entire trip experience with Shah Tours was excellent! We had a custom 10 day safari tour package to visit Tanzania. Shah Tours helped us plan for the trip with detailed itinerary, cost breakdown, daily tour plans, optional packages and other useful tips. They are very responsive over WhatsApp chats and it helped us a lot. From the time we landed at the airport till the end of our trip, Shah Tours arranged excellent accommodations, meals, safari vehicles and tour guides. We had great drivers and tour guides Mecky and Goodluck during our Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Serengeti park safari. Our Zanzibar resort stay experience was fabulous! Airport pick ups and drop offs were very smooth. Shah Tours made us feel very safe and comfortable during our entire stay and our concerns were immediately addressed. We would highly recommend Shah Tours for Tanzania trips.

Shah Tours, were great host. They provided brilliant information and advice before and during our trek. They kept us informed all the time and took great care in insuring that our group achieved its goal. Our guides were brilliant and helped us through out the trek.

In February 2024, I had the privilege of climbing Kilimanjaro with Shah tours, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the initial planning stages to the final summit push, the entire team at Shah tours demonstrated exceptional professionalism, expertise, and dedication.
The guides, John, Musa, Calvin, Isaac were outstanding! Their extensive knowledge of the mountain, combined with their enthusiasm and encouragement, made all the difference in our successful ascent. The entire support staff, including the porters, cooks, and camp crew, were equally impressive.
Shah tours truly exceeded our expectations in every way. Their:

Shah are a legit KPAP operator. Me and my friend (both from the UK) climbed Kilimanjaro (7 day Machame route) across the end of May/ start of June, and had a great time.
(KPAP is an organisation which ensures the welfare & work conditions of the porters who carry all your stuff up the mountain).
We were just ahead of the main climbing season, but had excellent weather the whole time. No rain, clear views at the top, and the mountain was pretty quiet in terms of other groups. Really the end of May is an excellent time to go.
Shah were flexible during the booking process, making the amends we requested easily. For example my friend was already in Moshi, so our airport pickup needed to collect him on the way. All good, no problems, didn't have to explain anything twice. Communication was excellent throughout.
The actual climb was amazing, the crew really looked after us. We were both a bit uncomfortable being pampered and looked after so much haha! We had our own mess tent for eating, and basically stood around a lot feeling guilty about not doing any work. You get used to it though.
We were able to have good banter with our guides over the 7 days - I still chat a bit with one of them on instagram now. Their English is excellent. Big shout out to our guides specifically - Calvin Shayo & King Harold the Man. They were able to put up with me for 7 days which isn't easy. The climb was mostly me bullying them and telling them to speed up haha! They know best though, it's a good idea to listen to them.
I'd fully recommend paying for a private toilet through Shah Tours as an add-on, especially if you go later in the season.
Remember to bring $USD for tips at the end of the climb, and follow the tipping guide the tour company provides as part of the KPAP group. The tips make a big difference and the porters etc all really appreciate it. They sang a song for us at the end, it was emotional.

We felt so extremely lucky to work with Shah tours for our climb. We couldn’t have reached the summit without the support of our incredible team of 20. Our guides, Augustin, Isaac, and Acasio felt like family after the week we spent with them. They were knowledgeable, professional, organized, motivating and just so much fun to be around. Our chef Elimokosi made delicious food that we couldn’t believe was cooked on the side of the mountain. Our waiter Jeremia was the kindest, happiest, and most helpful person we could have asked for. And our team of porters were the best cheerleaders and support system. We had so much fun with them, and this team really did make our experience one of a kind. Shah tours was there for us before the trip for all questions and guidance, and even planned a call to talk about what to expect. They loaned us gear and even stored our belongings while we were on the trek. They also treated us to a wonderful celebration lunch upon our return. We were so sad to say goodbye. I would recommend Shah tours to everyone!

Literally had the time of my life, everything was planned perfectly. No words to describe how much I loved the tour!! Will definitely go again with Shah Tours. Special thanks to our guide/driver Mohammed he was phenomenal made this whole experience 100% better and smooth I would recommend him.

We had a wonderful experience thanks to our very professional, polite and caring driver. He simple knew everything about the parcs, the wildlife and he spotted every animal on our way. No effort was too much. We ‘d really recommand a safari in ngoro ngoro, serengeti and lake natron with Shah!
