Wisata budaya, Cendramata murah dibanding tempat lain di Toraja, bisa foto dengan Tedong bonga (kerbau sultan)

Oleh2 cendramata nya murah di sini dibanding tempat wisata Toraja lainnya. Disini, kita bisa foto sama Tedong bonga "albino" (alias kerbau sultan yg harganya bisa mencapai 1 M) hanya dengan membayar 20rb. Kalo mau masuk ke dalam goa biasanya ada pemandunya, masuk pakai petromax karna gelap di dalam goa. Isinya dalam goa banyak peti peti jenazah nenek moyang, oh ya ada juga yg baru meninggal sih dibagian bawahnya, dibuat seperti rumah2 kecil gitu (khas Toraja dan biasanya orang berpengaruh didaerah itu)

Puts Torajan history into perspective

Just a stone’s throw away from our accommodation at the Sanduk Homestay (highly recommended) is Kete Kesu. You can’t not go here as the explanation from a knowledgeable guide will put a lot of Torajan history into perspective. Beyond the 300yo traditional houses are rockside graves so definitely spend 1-2 hours in this vicinity.

villaggio Toraja

Kete Ketsu è forse il più conosciuto tra i villaggi Toraja con le case Tongkanan nella loro forma più autentica. Questo antico villaggio offre anche una visione della vita sociale di Tana Toraja con edifici molto antichi, tetti in fibra naturale, elementi simbolici e manufatti come l'artigianato di intaglio e scultura. C'è anche un piccolo museo locale nel quartiere dove saperne di più sulla cultura e sui costumi dell'antico popolo Toraja.

In Kete Kesu Village, about 5 km from Rantepao, there are traditional Tana Toraja houses called Tongkonan. This tongkonan is often a temporary storage place for bodies that have been wrapped in cloth before being buried. At the top of the village you see ancient coffins hanging against the cliff. Skulls and bones are exposed. This village is interesting but also touristic.

In Kete Kesu staan Tongkonan huizen die vaak dienen als tijdelijke grafkamer voor de overledenen. Tegen de rots naar boven hangen oude grafkisten waar de schedels en botten te zien zijn vanwege de slijtage. Het dorp is interessant maar ook erg toeristisch. Het ligt ongeveer 5 km van Rantepao waar wij in het hotel verbleven.
