It is a great art and culture centre. They also do have an art studio where you could meet these amazing aboriginal artist.

After week in the beautiful community of Ali-Curung delivering training we decided to stop into the community art gallery. Much like all the community gallery's I've had the pleasure of visiting it was organised chaos. Ian and his lovely staff let me look for ages as I ooed and awwwed my way through the collection that was hanging, stacked and tucked into this lovely space. Even after looking under, over and around as many as I could before they had to good home their families. I went back to the first one that really captured my heart. It will hang in my home and remind me of the fantastic week we had with everyone. Thank you You Mob at Arlpwe Art and Ali-Curung.

A genuine cultural experience. Good artefacts, real natives, friendly. They have an annual native ritual/dance day which we chanced upon entirely by good fortune. This is a worthwhile detour from the Stuart Highway, but woefully promoted both in advertising and in road signage. From the road it just looks like a turn-off to yet another flea-bitten tourist trap, which it is not. They have an extraordinary annual native ritual/dance day (ie. one day) that really deserves advertising. It is excellent. We were alerted to it only by word of mouth.

Although not well known and in such a remote location.
Located about 380km north of Alice Springs and about 170km before Tennant Creek.
Look for the turn off sign's on the right hand side.
See some of the local arts, crafts and potteries, all for sale.

The people are nice and the range of artifacts is varied, from number 7 boomerangs, boomerangs, shields and many paintings.
