Wow what a place this is. I feel eternally grateful for the love, kindness, compassion and wisdom Tushita offers. Once in a lifetime experience which I will never forget. The teaching is of very high quality and meditations are led with empathy. I did the Introduction to Buddhism course which was simple and one which I believe every human should do. It's a pity that this isn't taught at schools.
Meals were vegetarian (also cater for vegans), fresh, healthy and so tasty. The peanut butter was so yummy. Food is served with love and kindness.
Laundry facilities were available onsite and shared bathrooms have indian and western style toilets. Showers also have hot water with good water pressure. I went during the cold season so it was very cold but they have thick duvets available for hire. I would also recommend taking a hot water bottle.
If in doubts of doing this course, just do it. No downside, it will only make you a better human being and give you tools to be able to manage the stressful western lives we live in. Tushita is an NGO and keeps costs minimal so please do help them in any way that you can.
Also worthwhile to visit and support is the Tibetan Children's village school nearby, also an NGO. We have a lot to be grateful for and Tushita is a one in a million find. Thank you Tushita.

Super place with high intensity positive vibes, been there thrice over the past few years. It gives a sense of calm as soon as you enter the premises from the main gate.

located just on the road to Dharmkot, you can take walk of 20 minutes from Mcleod gunj. This place is famous for meditation courses . The place is full of positive energy and calm. they conduct daily sessions and provide accommodation and meals and reasonable price. Stay away from hustle bustle of city life and your smart phones and learn the true meaning of life.

I follow this course last Novembre and it was incredible. First of all the centre is very peaceful and relaxing. You hear very little noise from the street, you are surrounded by the forest and mountains. The food was delicious, vegetarian and different everyday.
The quality of teaching, the content of the course and the variation of the meditation session were really great. I ve enjoyed every single day there, time went by very quickly, and to get a real break from our daily busy routine is sometimes very necessary and brings so much.
There is such a positive energy there and Ienjoyed so much my cup of tea every day just sitting there and admiring the beauty of nature.

I just completed my first 10 day Introduction to Buddhism retreat at Tushita.
Take up this retreat if you are at a time in your life when you are contemplating the meaning of it all and if you wish to reset the purpose of your existence. India is a spiritual place but the country is awash with dishonest babas and greedy godmen out to cheat the gullible traveler. Having spent 10 days at Tushita, I can say with confidence that it is one of the most genuine and sincere places there is, and truly wants to make a change in the lives of those that seek its patronage.
The highlight of the course was the enforcement of strict silence and the lack of access to phones and technology as a whole which forces one to contemplate from within. The staff at Tushita are committed to ensuring a comfortable and pleasant stay and they provide tasty meals and acceptable accommodation at a very economical price (which confirms their focus is not on making money but to genuinely make Tibetan Buddhist Dharma accessible to all).
As for the course content, I benefited greatly from the daily meditation sessions that helps one train the mind to be equanimous under any circumstance, good or bad. I also felt that Buddhism and its teachings touched a lot of my own beliefs and convictions, its non-reliance on a God and the emphasis on looking inwards for peace and happiness, being a few. A few of the teachings can only be taken with suspension of rationality, but as my teacher Ven. Namgyel put it - take what you like and leave the rest. The teachers of the course truly reflect Tushita's commitment to spreading the message of Buddhism to anyone willing to make an effort.
Without batting an eyelid, I would go back to Tushita many times more in the future to further my own knowledge of Buddhist Dharma but more importantly to enhance my own personal growth as a human being.

Walk the road from Mcleod to the mediation center. It is crazy steep and long, but it prepares you for sitting quietly and enjoying the peace and energy of the center.

This place on the way to Dharamkot, it's an oasis for meditation or just to be quiet in silence. They offer free daily meditation in the morning at 9, except Sundays.

This is the place we went to every single day of our stay in Dharamkot. Serene, beautiful and quiet. The place wraps you with everything it has, to calm and soothe your mind & soul. You can sit here for hours without feeling the need to talk to anyone or look at your phone. Must visit.

Hello! I'm planning on going to a 10-day retreat at Tushita in February and was wondering if you need a protected area permit (PAP) to enter? I am a US citizen with an Indian tourist VISA. I didn't see anything about it on their website but the website for the Bureau of His Holiness the Dalai Lama stated that any foreign national entering a Tibetan settlement requires a PAP. I would appreciate a response from anyone who knows! Thanks.

Are there facility in Tushita for freshening up before class at 1 PM? Will they allow to use facility before registration?
I sent an email to Tushita but did not hear anything. Please share any information regarding this?
