Cooking workshop with Deepa, we prepared 3 dishes Hello Gobi Hello Fernte and Del and everything was delicious and good, a pleasant cooking experience.

Deepa is so lovely and warm. She thoroughly explains the process and gives learning the cooking more depth by adding in her personal experiences in the process of making spices & cooking with her family. By far one of my favorite experiences in my trip to India. Now I’m excited to make one of the best tasting dal and eggplant dishes I’ve ever had for my family!

Original and traditional Indian Cooking class with Deepa was simply an amazing experience.
Just a few points to give you a good hint what to expect.
- easy, quick and flexible finding of the right date and time. Also short term is not an issue. Deepa makes it work.
- Deepa is perfectly following your preferences. Are you more into cooking curries, dals, Indian breads,… I didn’t feel there are any limits except meat as the city Pushkar is vegetarian only.
- almost all ingredients are homegrown in Deepa’s own garden (spices (chilli, Turmeric, cumin,…); lentils or even oils like sesame oil! So super organic and best quality
- Deepa learned to cook from her mother, she again from her mother, so really original family recipe’s Deepa is teaching
- the kitchen is a small place but perfectly fine equipped and of course very clean incl cool view from the rooftop 😎
- we chose 3 dishes (dal, stuffed paratha and marar ghobi) and managed all of them without any pressure within roughly 3h incl cooking, asking many questions about cooking but also Deepa and her story, making notes regarding the recipes and of course eating.
I could give much more information but I think this is providing a first impression. Just try and I am sure you will like it. Deepa is really polite, even a little shy, but super warmly welcoming you just like part of the family.
If you want to get into Indian Cuisine, Deepa is the place to start!

Highly recommend this class! Deepa is the most lovely lady and I loved the class with her - her food is amazingly delicious and she was a wonderful teacher. I can’t wait to make the dishes at home. A lovely relaxing and informative class with great food and wonderful teacher.

The class was just us (two of us) and deepa, and she took us through how to cook aloo paratha, eggplant curry, and Dahl. Deepa was a great host - she gave us plenty of time to write down notes, showed us each step and made sure we had a good time cooking each dish ourselves. Food was fantastic (particularly the eggplant curry was delicious) and we would highly recommend!

Excellent accueil et très beaux échanges avec Deepa.
Largement 3h30 à partager sa cuisine. Nous avons concocté 3 plats ( aloo paratha, dhal, curry d'aubergines) , elle a vraiment pris le temps de répondre à toutes nos questions concernant la cuisine indienne, nous a donné de nombreux conseils pour cuisiner d'autres plats, exoliqué les différences entre chapati, paratha.
Nous également eu droit à de nombreuses précisons sur les épices, et les vertus des plantes médicinales.
Nous avons eu le plaisir de rencontrer sa famille, tous impliqués dans leur école de danse et musique. Une magnifique expérience culinaire et de rencontre.
À la fin, son fils et sa mère ont eu la gentillesse d'aller nous acheter une bonne poêle à chapatis. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié le soin avec lequel elle nous a montré chaque geste pour que nos Paratha soient parfaites.
Ce n'est pas un atelier de cuisine organisé avec chacun sa planche et ses ustensiles suivant " le maître", mais une réelle expérience culinaire dans une maison et une ambiance traditionnelle et familiale: tout ce que nous recherchions et que l'on ne trouve que trop rarement.
Merci pour ce très beau moment et ce premier délicieux repas de 2023. Manuk et Chloe

We had a great time learning with Deepa how to cook chana masala, plain paratha and chapati and eggplant curry. Thank you Deepa for teaching us, sharing with us and the warm welcome. Would recommand 100% :)

Deepa welcomed us into the family home for an authentic Rajasthani cooking experience. Teaching us how to make parathas, dhal and brinjal masala. We had an amazing time, learning more about Indian way of life, definitely a highlight of visiting Pushkar.

We had the best time while cooking with Deepa!
In this 4 hours cooking class (including having our self prepared meal) we learned how to cook 3 Indian dishes of our choice (if you're indecisive like my husband and me the hosts offer suggestions as well :D) in their own home kitchen. It's not pretentious but feels really authentic and intimate. We also learned a little bit about Deepa's life and the life of her family and appreciated her warm and authentic character.
A must-do course if you're into Indian cuisine and want to dig below the surface of its flavors.

This was so much fun! I had the best time learning to cook indian food with Hemant. We cooked three dishes, and he explained everything thoroughly. It was easy to follow his instructions and the food was all I wanted from an indian homecooked meal. They are a warm and welcoming family.
