Sadly we didn’t get to visit the interior of the church, but it is a beautiful building in a bucolic village. If AI was asked to generate the perfect English village it would be Edensor. It is so lovely it didn’t seem real at times. At one point a pheasant stalked in front of us and smaller , curious birds landed on a wall close to where we were standing. It brought to mind a scene from Disney’s Snow White! At the heart of this slice of perfection is the church. The sense of peace is palpable when you walk through the grounds. Paxton is buried in the churchyard as are the Devonshire’s. As a point of interest, Kathleen Cavendish is buried alongside her in-laws. A simple plaque commemorates a visit JFK paid to his sister’s grave 5 months before his assassination. We stopped off in the village after visiting Chatsworth and we are so glad we did. Visit the village and this beautiful Church if you have the opportunity.

St Peter's is a grade I listed church situated in the picturesque village of Edensor close to Chatsworth House, which is the home of the Dukes of Devonshire most of whom are buried in the churchyard.

The inside of the church is in need of an indepth clean. The floor is very dirty and there are cobwebs throughout the windows.

Perched overlooking the village, this large well maintained church is well worth a visit. Still traditionally appointed and presented inside, but nevertheless speaks of a caring Christian community in all the tasteful personal

This is a beautiful church both inside and out. The graveyard outside is also worth looking at as President Kennedys sister, Kathleen is buried there.
The Church is located back from the main road, overlooking Chatsworth estate. It was open during the day when we stopped by.

The flower arrangements were fabulous. A lady was in tidy them up and spraying them. Church lovely Gilbert Scott architecture with Dukes of Devonshire in graveyard ... plus Debo and a Kennedy.

This is a charming place to visit at any time of the year. Sitting in a commanding central location in the pretty village it's been the family church of the Devonshires for many many years.

Attended a wedding here - struck by how picturesque the church was. Lovingly kept and such beautiful details. Their choir was other worldly - absolutely stunning.
