A great day. An old time favorite restaurant and bar shut down. Recently I visited the Bay Area and made a half day walking around Berkeley and Telegraph Ave. Raleigh's is back.
Years ago I was a regular at Raleigh's Pub in Berkeley. A few blocks from the south boundary of the U.C. Berkeley campus. Raleigh's a local favorite hangout. A bar with a large beer list. Well lit, high ceilings and an airy indoor seating arrangement. A fire pit, sports programming on a few t.v.s. no volume only for casual watching. Big outdoor patio, nice boce court. Another small bar out on patio.
A great place to gather a group or just for two.
Friendly and professional staff
Clean, spacious and a fun place for lunch and a drink.
A sister business is next door. Also an inside doorway between Raleigh's and the salad bar, Intermezzo. I think the name is now just Mezzo
Next time I will eat at Intermezzo too

Met two friends at Raleigh's on a Tuesday - margarita and street tacos on special. A noisy college hangout - we're older folks - we went to the back patio area and had a pleasant meal. Good location as we were on our way to a poetry reading up the street (Telegraph Ave) at Moe's.

Never have I seen a pub pump through so much business! The barkeeps are flying; the kitchen putting out great burgers, wings, fried onion rings, and other pub fare. And, of course, just two blocks off campus, the place is full of bright, attractive youngsters. Inside, outside, covered patio, at the bar — take your pick from where you’d like to take in the scene. A place not to miss if you’re in or around Oakland.

Cervejas incríveis, comida boa e variada. Um pub gostoso, atendimento simpático, com mesas ao ar livre. Divertido!

Raleigh's has a great/amazing selection of beers. Lots of seating inside and on a couple of outside patio spaces. We munched on some nachos and fries (both very good) while sipping the beers.
If you want a healthier option - the Pub shares inside space with one of the best places in Berkeley to get a fantastic salad.
Once you solve the battle for parking in the area and arrive there - settle in for good food and good eats.

We needed a pet friendly place to have dinner in Berkeley so we came here. The patio was filthy, with broken glass on the floor, and dirty table tops. My husband ordered soup and got the wrong flavor. I ordered a pizza which wasn't very good . . . I could have done better with a DiGiorno. My son got a burger which he seemed to enjoy. Good beer, ok wine.

We were reluctant to return after such fond memories of the old Raleigh's, before the fire. But we were so pleased that we did. The back patio is even better. The food and beer are both excellent. It was good to be back.

My wife & I stopped by Raleigh's on Game Day. Our 1st time back since Raleigh's was shut down due to a fire. The remodel is great, open & airy, with a large outdoor seating area. As usual, on Game Day, the place was packed, so we sat at the bar. Ben Lopez served us & he was fantastic, very attentive & accommodating.
Beer & wine only, & all the beers are from local small breweries. Ben was very nice & let us sample some of the beers, since we were not familiar with any of the breweries. I settles on the Rich Mahogany, a brown ale, & my wife had a mimosa.
The food is really good. I had a carne asada & a carnitas taco. Large tacos stuffed with meat and a cabbage mix, really delicious. The couple sitting next to us had a pepperoni pizza that looked great (& smelled great, too).
I can't wait to go back for our next Game Day tailgate. We'll just have to plan on getting to Raleigh's earlier.
One last thing, credit card or debit cards only. No Cash.

This place is awesome....good beers and a beautifull and peacefull garden to spend late afternoons.inside is the best for evening with friends drinking and eating...just having fun after a hard day of work!
