I was in the area and was craving pizza when this place came up. While I was waiting in line I saw the employees bring out a pizza to a table and it looked so yummy. I had the Bbq chicken pizza and it was really full of flavor and everything about it was to-die-for. YUMM! I also had pretzels which were soft and came with jalapeño cheese and mustard dip. So good.
There are two dining areas and they also have free basketball, darts and shuffleboard. There is plenty of parking and a great place to hang out.

Outstanding beers on tap and an expanded patio area outside lets customers enjoy the cool Camarillo nights.
For those who want something other than an IPA, Restraint (IA’s brown ale) is outstanding. Smooth finish, great flavor.
The pizzas and pretzels are fantastic too and pair really well with the beers.

This is my favorite brewery. Beer is always fresh and delicious. It always has a rotating tap list. Also, great artwork.

I visited Institution Ale early on a Friday afternoon. I had heard that because Camarillo does not have many bars or nightlife, Institution Ale gets very busy. I arrived at about 2:30 pm and it was not crowded at all. My only complaint was that you must order all food and drinks inside at the bar and only one person was taking orders. I waited about 10 minutes to order with only three people ahead of me in line. Institution Ale was having an Oktoberfest event and had bratwurst in addition to their pizza and pretzel menu. I order one of each. The food was very good and arrived at my table quickly. For drinks I ordered: The Festbier, Cinnamon Swirl on Nitro, RX pils, Restraint and Cam Light. I liked the beers very much and would definitely go back for more. The additiional seating in the parking lot I hope is a permanent addition.

I have been here a few times with friends and for work and it's always been pretty good. I like the selection of beer and the pizza is very good. It usually is not super busy during the week but some nights you can battle to find parking. I like the game section for a bit of fun ! Keep it up.

Busy on a Friday night but was able to share a table with another couple. Enjoyed the draft beers - Stout and Pale Ale. They have about 10 beers on tap.
Also enjoyed the pizza - its a high quality pizza.
Place was loud but fun and everyone was nice.

Welcome to the cattle drive. Stand in a long line on a busy night to order and then try to find a table. Once you actually order they will then bring your order to you. There has to be a way to make this more efficient. The beer is good with a wide selection for all tastes. They appear to brew everything on site. The menu is limited to 9 kinds of pizza and pretzels. Perfect for the old beer and pizza crowd. They just openned in the last couple years so whatever the comment about it being the inspiration for "hotel california" can't possibly be true. Some games next to the room with the tanks if you need to burn energy. Food and beer were good. I would wait for a time when it's less crowded. Go and enjoy!!!

OK, I don’t know if this is true?! But a local said this place was the original “Hotel California” meaning the song was inspired by this institution. That aside, this place has great craft beer and huge pretzels. Great place to get together after work and unwind with friends.

Pizza was good, but the real draw must be the brew. I might return when I am not driving. I expect it is a fun place for a group of fiends to meet for pizza and brews. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly. The atmosphere was industrial, as appropriate.
It wasn't a good fit for a retired, never liked beer anyway old lady. Me bad! It really is a place to gather with a group of brew lovers. The college crowd would love it.

THere is no designated place for kids. They just sit with you & watch the beer drinkers😉.they have large tables inside & an area you can sit outside. I don’t know if they offer soft drinks for kids. It is a brewery only.
