Yes you can.

All 4 areas ( Niseko Village, Hirafy, Hana-zono) have some steep slopes. Better think about where will you live. After will decide where to ski.

It snowed 13 out of 14 days. The skiing was amazing! The food was amazing and the natural spring hot tubs made this a great trip.

Hilton Niseko Village is at the heart of the central mountain base. From there, you can easily access the lifts and get on busses to take you to neighboring ski area bases. Its a beautiful spot and the service is excellent. If you want a big ski town to run around, though, the whole Niseko area may not be it for you. Gorgeous skiing though.

I travelled by train. My route back then was Sapporo to Hakodate to Niseko. If not mistaken, you should be able to take a direct train from Sapporo but please check on the train station you can stop as not all stations is operating especially during winter. I assumed you are staying at Hilton in Niseko Village Ski Resort? There is shuttle from the nearby train stations to Hilton. Please check on the train station that is operating and has the shuttle services.

How old are your kids? Hilton is ski in/ski out and worth checking prices during off peak season. Chateau Ivy in Hirafu looke quite nice and centrally located. We didn't stay there but friends did (kids are ages10-16). They rented their ski equipment down the street from Chateau Ivy and lifts are within walking distance.

If you are an advanced skier then contact the powder hounds website, there’s plenty of off-piste and Back Country adventures to be had. Enjoy your stay there, we did, awesome snow this year.

Hi. I don’t know this places. I know Hilton is a bit outside the village. We stayed at AYA hotel. Got our rentals in the shop next door. They had good promotions there. Not sure about Xmas time, as this is peak season. Sorry, that I can’t be more of help. Hope you enjoy the skiing!

Intermediate, yes. Beginner will be tough despite there is a green slope.

IMO, I would stay at a hotel called Ki-Niseko. It is up scale but very convenient, particularly as it sounds like you don't have much time. Unfortunately nothing like Telluride in all of Japan for steeps but at the top of Niseko you can go back country through gate numbers 1 to 4. Not butt clenching steep but if you strike a good day the powder will make up for it. Few short & steepish runs on piste, but not probably the degrees you would be used too. Buy a lift pass that accesses all 4 areas of Niseko. Rusutsu also option for steepish trees and powder - about a half hour shuttle and different lift ticket. I have found Japan being all about the dry deep powder rather than the steeps. Hope this helps?
