The local museum is free to enter and explains the history of how Capitola got on the map. Overall stay was around 45-60 mins as there is a lot of historical artifacts and photos inside.

We went to the musuem to learn about the history of Capitola. We also picked up the map to see other historical sites such as the First Capitola City Hall.

A trip to the Capitola Historical Museum is a great way to learn about this beautiful coastal community. The current exhibit is full of little known facts about the town. Great photos and artifacts. Pick up a Capitola Coloring Book for the kids.

Nice little informative museum with lots of artifacts, photos, history, maps, etc. Very welcoming staff. Great stop if new to the area.

The volunteer was very knowledgeable. The exhibits were very interested and provided a really nice overview of the area and the history. There were interesting wildlife informational displays as well.

EVERY single time my grandchildren come to visit me, they want to stop at the museum. They love looking in the windows and it has a bit of "ghost haunt" to it! They live the exhibits inside but we often just stop by when it's closed and look through the windows at the way "things were" back in the day!!!

This is a very small local historical archive of the Capitola Beach Community of the past hundred years. But it's wonderfully informative of the times before freeways when the Sun-tan Special Trains ran up and down the coast from San Francisco to Monterey daily.

A lovely little museum that traces the history of the Capitola area for the last 140 years. Great photographs, beautiful stained glass windows on the ceiling, artifacts, and more. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Well worth the visit.

It was especially interesting to see the re-creation of a turn of the century Vacation Rental - It was 10x10' and your suitcase served as your dresser!
