Whitewater rafting tour operator that offers 1, 2, and 3 day trips. Booked the 2 day tour for my dad’s birthday online in advance, and it was $350/person. You have the option to rent a tent (includes a sleeping pad) or bringing your own gear/car camping. They have RV toilets (the Driftwood Chateau) and no showers. It was my first time sleeping outdoors in a tent, and I must say that the sound of the river was very soothing. There haven’t been any bear or mountain lion sightings but there are apparently a lot of skunks. No wifi so it’s a good time to unplug. There’s cornhole, a sand volleyball court, and ping pong table.
The rafting trips were so much fun. Joseph was our guide both days (shoutout to Boat 15) and he was amazing. He confidently led us through the waters and made sure everyone was safe doing so. Wetsuits are Farmer John-style and mandatory. There are paddle jackets, helmets, and booties available to borrow. It’s Class 3 rapids and young kids were on the rafts (with their parents).
Everyone else was super friendly and worked hard to make our trip enjoyable. Saki was the director and was very helpful. The kitchen crew made solid meals and the groundskeeper kept everything clean and running smoothly. It really was a turnkey vacation where the only thing we needed to worry about was paddling and having fun.

My 12 year old son and I went on our first white water rafting trip this month on the Kings River with KRE. Since it was our first time, we didn’t know what to expect. We didn’t know about how cold the water would be, how to dress, what to bring, what to expect, etc.
What we liked about the operations is that everyone we really kind. It truly came across as a family oriented operation in how everyone interacted with us. As an example, Saki, who ran the camp, remembered my name after hearing it one time. Julie was very patient and gracious with her responses as we communicated via email multiple times.
We booked the 10am rafting trip. This means the camp fed us lunch before we left. We were on the road to our drop off point by noon. We arrived back at camp a little after 4pm. There were snacks, and later dinner, all at no extra charge. Some people even camped out on the grounds overnight.
Our river guide was John S, and he was AMAZING! You can easily tell he’s guided rafting trips for 20 years. John made the trip fun and exciting with his humor and energy. He took the time to get to know us, what we wanted out of the trip and catered it accordingly. His goal, was to make sure we had a blast….. and we did.
The rapids were class 3, which I would definitely suggest for first timers or of participants of any age, build, or athletic shape. It wasn’t as terrifying of an experience as I thought it would be. The water was not as cold as I envisioned. It was very helpful to have a wetsuit and booties that I can rent from the camp. That, along with a long sleeve rash guard and I was fine.
Overall, it was a great experience. I highly recommend rafting with KRE.

If you have not taken a whitewater rafting trip with KRE yet, then do so soon! They are safe and fun, but also thrilling. It is always pleasing to find a group of hardworking young people who work well as a team.

We had a group of 4 and were all first-timers. The river is beginner friendly. We enjoyed it so much and will be recommending KRE to all our friends and family. The camp, boats, and everything were very well organized. Everything was done professionally. Our guide, Jason (Saki), was awesome and truly made our experience a great one! He was energetic, friendly, knowledgeable, and excellent!

Our friends go every year with this outfitter. Year after year they invite us to go and year after year we respectfully decline. This time, there was no way out. The thought of navigating a roaring river, in a high water year no less, scared the living daylights out me. But, once we were on the water I asked myself "what was I so afraid of". We had a great time. Actually, I was shocked at how mild the ride was. Maybe I had myself way too worked up. Anyway, our guide was awesome and the comradery was superior. We did the all day trip which included lunch and dinner, but I think next time I would just do the half day trip. I would even recommend this for young kids. It was a great day for sure!

Big thumbs up to KRE. Our trip was fantastic. The camp site was well maintained. The crew was wonderful and great hosts, very service oriented. The river was fast and cold providing an exciting experience. A special shout out to our guides, George, Lucas (we named ours the Star Wars raft), Karly, and the camp host Wyatt. Highly recommend this company!

I have now gone twice. I have had Casey and Travis as guides. They are both absolutely fantastic. It is a great activity with quite the adrenaline rush. The company is a family owned and they are all about making sure you have fun and remain safe.

This was the first stop on a week-long adventure with 25 high school students. We decided to camp at their campground the night before our rafting trip. When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed, and got right to setting up our tents. The staff even asked if we needed help with our tents. They went out of their way to make us comfortable and happy. They thought of everything we could have wanted. I have never felt so pampered on a camping trip!
The rafting was great. Many of our group had never been down a river on a raft before, so there was some trepidation, but the staff was so friendly and confident, that everyone felt safe and warm. We had been warned to bring wool sweaters and caps, and those that had them were very happy (the water as well as the weather was cold).
The kids (as well as the chaperones) had a great time, and I can't wait to take another group out with the Kings River Expeditions!

Extremely well-run organization. Jeb and his crew work very hard to maximize the enjoyment of each and every guest. Whether you come as a single, couple, family with young children or family with teenagers, KRE has something for you. My first trip was with a group of adult friends and later came with younger then older children and had a blast every time. Seemed like the trip was made just for our group each time. They have all the safety gear and stuff to keep you warm (snow melt water is cold) and the guides are all chosen for experience and especially personality.
They feed you really well with plenty of fresh veggies as well as wine and beer for dinner. Great camping area or you can stay indoors at a nearby resort. Watch their website for ongoing info regarding water because they are reliant on the snow above them for the river level; good snow pack yields bigger water.
