Garden Creek is our favorite vineyard in Sonoma and Napa. We have visited at least a dozen vineyards and Garden Creek is by far the best. The location is a bit off the beaten path but it is beautiful. The best thing about Garden Creek is Karin whom we have had the pleasure of visiting with on two occasions. She make s the experience informative and personal. Karin and her husband Justin own and run the vineyard. The wine is excellent and the experience is wonderful.

Karin and Justin are the owners/farmers/wine makers at Garden Creek and will make you have a new appreciation for wine!! After touring larger, commercialized wineries, Garden Creek is the perfect intimate, laid back tour. Karin and Justin both grew up in the wine industry, working in the vineyards since they were children. Karin walked us through the vineyards, explaining the details of growing the fruit and explaining all the meticulous details and hard work that is involved in wine growing and wine making. She showed us the different vines and explained how the soil and acidity impacts the different varieties of grapes and even showed us how they prune the vines and cut the leaves so the fruit receive the perfect amount of morning sunlight, while providing shade in the afternoon heat. There is so much that goes into wine-making that I was unaware of! Karin is a true delight; she then brought us into the wine making facility, showing the special equipment followed by a charming tasting in the barrel room under candlelight. It is evident that Karin and Justin are hard working people who have a true passion about wine growing and wine making. Their precious children were around and are beginning to have a passion for wine growing/making as well! We were honored that they took time during the busy harvest season to host us, and we definitely plan to return! Thank you again, Karin and Justin! We are looking forward to enjoying our wine!
