I have been there twice now, both times took family with no riding experience ever. The guides are amazing, the ride is amazing, I would recommend this trip for any level of riding experience and will be back every year. 5 star for sure

Disclaimer: I am giving this review based on customer service. I booked a trip and was charged immediately on my credit card. I had to cancel the next day which was fine with the ranch because it was at least 4 days in advance. I received a confirmation for my cancellation and it said it could take up to 3 weeks to process the refund. A few weeks had gone by and I still hadn't received the refund. I made 2 attempts by email and phone to reach them to no avail. It has been over a month and I still have not received my refund. Finally I was able to get a hold of someone today 8/14 and they said it would be processed later this week. The lady on the phone was not nice and didn't apologize for the delay. We will see if the refund will happen later this week.

I have ridden at Sea Horse Ranch many times over the last five years or so. I love them! Reasons: they are well-run and take excellent care of both horses (healthy and well-trained) and riders. They start each ride with a how-to, and have friendly guides who help riders if needed. I am an experienced but careful rider (due to my age, 72), and am able to relax and enjoy the scenery, trails and beach.

The scenery on the ride is gorgeous: riding alongside fields of flowering brush, crossing the stream bed of Pilarcitos Creek under a gorgeous canopy of brush and trees (felt like I was in a jungle), emerging to ride along the bluffs above the Pacific, then down the trail to the beach and riding alongside the surf line. Couldn't get better. But, that is just the beauty of the ride. What most impressed me was the beautiful, healthy condition of the horses: very healthy weight, well-trimmed and shod hooves. The treatment of the horses and riders by the guides: the guides were very attentive to both, providing clear direction to the novice riders, cuing the horses appropriately, not harshly. I loved it.

I can’t say enough about the amazing Ranch!! I have ridden all over the United States but never in a place that had such a diverse trail! From a small river, with plush overhead trees and foliage to grassy open areas near the water, cliffs and of course, the most special part of all the beach and the edge of the surf. A bucket list item checked for sure! 🙏🏼😊

My mom and I had an amazing time!! We loved everyone we met at Sea Horse Ranch. They were kind, helpful, and made our ride from start to finish so enjoyable. We will definitely be back!! And the photographer was awesome capturing our time on the ocean and ride back to the stables.

When my granddaughters have visited us each summer, our annual day in Half Moon Bay and Seahorse Ranch is a must!
The girls always love their horses, and the ride along the beach is a highlight. The owners take great care in going through the proper way to ride, and furnish the helmets needed.
The trail guides are all great, and the 3 of them feel very comfortable.
I highly recommend Seahorse Ranch for any age!

Thank you Miss Willa & Company for an awesome beach ride through the stream, across the trails & down to the beach. I think we even spotted some dolphins playing in the surf a few hundred yards out. We also got a chuckle out of your cat & mouse opening act :)

This place was strict for zero reason. I couldn’t even take pictures while we were setting up and waiting. This was because they want to charge you for “professional photos”, 5 pictures for 40 bucks! On the ride the guys were rude and miserable to the riders, yelling at people who’s first time it was. 80% of the ride was on a ugly dirt road, the other 20% was on the beach. I suggest the other horse riding spot in Sf.

I fell down from the horse, because they made the horse surprised by shouting.
I was a beginner, but they made my horse hopping by whistle.
I had bone break and bruise on my left finger and rt. Knee.
They did not care about my condition after a ride.
They mix every levels of people together, and hurry the group.
They are amatures in horse ride.
Never recommend this company!

I see no cameras or cell phones are allowed on the ride - does anyone take pictures for riders to access afterwards, or are the opportunities for a photo along the way?

Yes, there will be someone taking pictures of you and your group throughout the ride, which you are able to see after the ride. Thanks for your question.
If we book ahead and rains on the day, will the tour be cancel? And can we get a full refund?

Hi, Anna. Our minimum riding age is 7 years old, and for safety reasons, there is no double riding. Unfortunately, then, your four year old won't be able to ride. I am so sorry. Up the road from us is a place called Lemos Farms which has pony rides and other activities for children. Thanks and good luck!!

Hello, I wanted to go this Mother's Day with my family. I was looking at the chart, I'm a "Mom" 5'1" tall and 167 lbs. according to the chart, I'm in the pink (x) area. Am I not able to go? Please let me know as I wanted to book ASAP for this Sunday.

We went on the sand along the water for a while, and we mostly "walked." We were not an experienced group. It was gorgeous!

Absolutely! We have riding helmets here, but if you prefer to use your own, that is perfectly fine. Make sure to book your reservation as soon as you know what day, since the holiday, if the weather holds, fills up quickly. Just go online, and book it yourself!!
