Such an interesting museum. Half of that stuff I had no idea about. It's really an education but it's also quite fascinating. I didn't think I would like it too much because I'm not really into death, but it had info about celebrities, and history, and also important data that we all need to know for our own health and safety!! It was really quite a worthwhile visit and fascinating. And it doesn't take too long to get through. I'd set aside about an hour.

This lovely building has an ugly museum in it. The attractive lobby gives no evidence that, once the doors lock behind you, this is a museum of ugly lies. All you get to do is watch videos in the dark mis-telling the history of Psychiatry. The only interactive exhibit is where you get to electroshock somebody. Worse, once the doors lock the only bathroom is at the end in the gift shop! Fun for the whole family!

I gave this one star because almost everything shown as fact is a proven falsehood and is all propaganda. This place is run by the Church of Scientology but they actually lied to us about this saying it had nothing to do with them. However, I would recommend going. It's free, don't donate any money to them. It is an interesting look inside a cult, just don't get taken in by the charisma of the staff and attractive lies portrayed.

Really narrow minded, ridiculous and unscientific views of a field that impacts most every human. Completely blames some of history's worst atrocities on psychiatry instead of all of the things that go into them. Contradictory and false claims throughout, a very obvious money making scheme that denies reality for so many. Brain washed, idiotic and dangerous rhetoric throughout. But, funded by scientology, not sure what else to expect.

When I was in college I was unhappy and saw a Psychiatrist. All he did was tell me one theory was that you have a chemical imbalance in the brain. He prescribed and I took anti-depressants. They did nothing for me. Many years later I did a detox and sweated out the residues of these "anti-depressants" my IQ went up 20 points! And this is one of Psychiatry LEAST DESTRUCTIVE TREATMENTS!
Since the museum covers all the Psychiatry destructive practices it is not easy to confront but deserves to be confronted. Have you ever wondered why there are so many homeless people? In some states your tax does are paying to put them on Psychotropic drugs.
You tax dollars are paying to label students as learning disabled and put them on Psychiatric drugs. So we can have a society full of illiterate druggies instead of productive citizens.
What kind of society to you want to live in?

Just came out of a nice Thai place about a block away. and being far away from my hotel, my buddy and I were searching for an open toilet to release the kraken.
Well we saw free exhibit and went in. We had to go through the exhibit to get to the toilet.
This is a massive collection of outliers treated as status quo, paranoia, half truths, and full on lies. This is by far the highest psychological toll I’ve ever paid for a poo.
Clean toilets tho...
(Rated 2 because of toilets, the exhibit... let’s say that what I left behind was both more appealing and scientifically sound... please don’t go)

This is a center by the Cult of Scientology as an attempt to spread doubt about our scientific medical approaches. While psychiatry likely has room for improvement, this is designed as a dangerous entry point into this cult.

I expected an educational experience for my psychology class. What I got was brainwashed none-sense from the Church of Scientology. This was a complete waste of my time. The Church of Scientology does not believe in psychiatric conditions, so this whole museum is about how psychology is not a branch of science. DO NOT GO HERE. If you do, DO NOT GIVE THEM MONEY. I wish I would not have been fooled into thinking this would be an educational thing. The whole museum is loaded with the propaganda of the Church of Scientology's ideology about what psychiatric disorders are to them. NOT THE TRUTH about psychiatry.

We were walking down sunset blvd and were invited in for free. What a mistake - sick and disturbing distortion of history in what I can only describe as some sort of attempt at cult indoctrination. Actually quite scary when you're pushed into a padded cell to watch the first video. Would not recommend to any unless you plan on becoming a scientologist...
