Our family would like to see the grounds and visitor center while we are in SF this coming week. One of us is LDS, the rest not, but we are favorable towards Mormons. Anyhow, the gentleman in charge advised us to take the BART to Fruitvale and then a local bus or uber to the temple.
How safe or sketchy is this area, especially if we are standing around? Three women in the daytime.

I live just a few blocks from the temple. It is very safe. I would have no problem sending you there. The Fruitvale BART area is more iffy. I would, instead, have you take BART to the Rockridge station and uber from there. It's a much better neighborhood than the Fruitvale.
