I needed something to do while my husband was at a Conference. I decided to check out the OC Zoo and Irvine Regional Park. There's plenty of parking here. I didn't realize how HUGE this park actually is. I parked and walked (the long way) to get to the zoo first thing. The $2 entry fee cannot be beat (even with the $5 parking charge). The zoo is small, but the animals were lively and looked well cared for. I especially enjoyed the mountain lion exhibit and the coyotes who all definitely put on a show for visitors. I also liked the petting zoo, where you could not only feed, but also brush the goats. They had a few animals in the zoo that I'd never seen before anywhere else. Peacocks roam free here which I found entertaining also. I walked around one more time to see if any of the animals were doing anything different than the first time around and I was able to catch a few presentations. At the end, there were a couple employees with smaller animals out to touch and learn about, which was really nice and not something you'd typically see at a bigger zoo. I enjoyed my time at the OC Zoo and would like to visit again.

A little patience is required when sharing the grounds with all the school field trips. Nearby parking is claimed pretty quickly after opening. Great that the zoo is so well utilized. Great photo ops if you've got a longish lens.

The day that I went with my family. I had a good time with them, my nephew was excited with all the animals that they had. The must part that my nephew love was the monkeys part, and the service there was good. I recommend this place

Small zoo, but super for young kids! The staff is knowledgeable and they have a brand new 'big cats' exhibit areas with mountain lions and a jaguar. They specialize in animals native to SoCal, and most animals are 'rescues' after an injury or who are otherwise unable to return to the wild.
There are normally animals out to see up close and 'touch', plus a petting zoo with goats. $2 admission per person and do-able in less than an hour.

Great for smaller children or to see animals habitated in SoCal. only a few dollars to enter, not commercialized at all.Would recommend this to anyone.

Pequeño zoo especializado en fauna autóctona californiana, aunque también incluye algunas (pocas) especies exóticas. Instalaciones en general adecuadas, aunque algunas son mejorables, principalmente en lo que respecta a visibilidad de los animales. Cuenta con varias rarezas en su colección, sobre todo para los que venimos de Europa.

Yes, it is very small. So, even people can't walk too long, they can walk whole zoo. It is enough for you and your kids and your family to enjoy one or two hours. There are mountain lion, bears, eagles, sheep, eagles, reptiles,... You can touch snake program is very good. Parking is $5 and entry fee is $2/per person.

It’s a small zoo focusing mainly on South Western wildlife with some exceptions. Now it’s a one way path through the zoo during the pandemic, but the animals were active when we visited!

This zoo is inside the Irvine Regional Park, so you need to pay to enter in the park and you need to pay to enter in the zoo . The zoo is pretty small and you can visit it in 30 - 45 minutes but it is cute, there is a bit of every thing here and the staff work hard on this small zoo. I have been to this zoo many times and my son loves it. The petting area is really nice and they have always great activities during Holidays.

A reviewer wrote that they do horse rides for children. Can anyone confirm this? I don’t see it anywhere on the website.

Yes they do but it's in Irvine Regional Park which is where the zoo is located. Look up their website and there is information there.

Hi,
Admission is just $2.00 each for everyone over three years old. I'm not sure about the Honda Center - the zoo is located in Irvine Regional Park.
