Funny reading these reviews saying it's overpriced at $12. Well in 2021 it's going for $30 per ticket Olympics $10 processing fee and sold out in min. Will update my review after I go again. Last yr was OK.

Good trip for a toddler but a little expensive for what it was. 2 year old with us loved it.
Also did the pony riding which was busy hence long queue but again great for little kids.

My grandson loves trains, Christmas lights and Santa. So... this was the perfect place to go for the holidays. Irvine park has changed since I visited there in the 1960s and 70s. I was happy for my grandson to see how much fun it could be. It must have taken weeks to put all those lights in the trees. It must have been MILLIONS of lights. Great fun but cold. The train is made for kids and does not have enough leg room for adults. Difficult on getting on and off the train

We were in the area and planned to visit. Luckily, we were able to catch the last ride of the day. The workers were unbelievably friendly, and the train ride is an actual tour of the park, with snippets of history and facts spoken throughout the ride. The ride itself was decently long, but very much worth the price imho.
They have peacocks and ducks that roam around the park, which the kiddo loved.
We will probably visit again, to ride the paddle boats and visit the zoo.

I have wanted to do Christmas at Irvine Park for years and my schedule and the gkids never worked.
I finally went last night and it was wonderful. The park area is decorated beautifully for Christmas with lights, Christmas trees, the train.
The special events which include, Easter, Fall, and Christmas is amazing. They do an excellent job with each event with games, rides, bounce houses, cookies to decorate, and prizes to win.
This is a multi generational place to come, I went as a child, took my kids, now the grands.
Beautiful for making memories.

This is a short ride on a "kiddie train". It goes through the park and is a pleasant, relaxing ride, even though the seats are hard and uncomfortable. Christmas time is when you may want to ride the train, as they decorate the park with thousands of lights and stop over to visit Santa Claus. This is a fun ride to take the kids.

Mentioned the Irvine Park Railroad in my review of Irvine Park. This is a GREAT attraction for both children and adults!! If you go to the park, a train ride, or three, is a MUST!!!

Great for young kids, and their parents to ride. The fee is not much and the ride is scenic, worth it. At times, on weekends, it can get busy, but have never had trouble finding seat.

This is great for small kids and toddlers--by 7 or 8, it's too juvenile unless the kids love trains--with the exception of the xmas lights if they still do them which is pretty and fun for even elementary aged kids.

Having a kid's birthday party here is a treat since the guests can take a nice ride around the park in a railroad train. My nephew loves trains and he enjoyed riding the train 4 or 5 times in a row. Wow!

Hopefully someone who rides it more regularly will be familiar with the weekday experience, it had such an enthused turnout from both locals and tourists, hard to know if it would run more frequently or less- I am thinking it had fewer runs on the weekend but keeping fingers crossed the website was more specific- such an easy trip. You may find school trips visiting the petting zoo so you might want to call and ask them if that is where you are headed, as to when most schools have their visiting time :0) The staff there is really wonderful and would be happy to help with specifics.
