Not what it used to be, but still a great stop. Date shakes still yummy. Lots of other snacks. I liked the old funky place better than the new shiner one, but that is just me. Watch the turn to get in, it comes up fast.

For many years the highlight of going back and forth to Arizona/California was the stop at the original old Hadley's Orchards in Beaumont Calif. It was so charming and old fashioned, a real throwback to the past. But then they decided to build a new and modern building, just like all those places along the highway of anywhere USA. A real shame. All metal, brick and nothing welcoming.

We have visited the Palm Springs area before and remember the famed date shakes from Hadley Fruit Orchards, so when we visited the area most recently during a day in Palm Springs, we made sure to stop for a milkshake. The store is located right next to the Cabazon Premium Outlets, which makes it easy if you’re coming from the freeway, and includes both a relatively-large grocery and supply store and the “restaurant” area.
The restaurant sells a variety of date-related products, the most famous of which is the date shake, which we’d definitely recommend trying! It comes in three sizes and the prices were reasonable. A friend who’d never had it before remarked that it was pretty similar to a vanilla milkshake — and that’s true: it’s not that unusual of a taste, less noticeable than chocolate or a flavor like that. However, if you’re stopping by the area and want to be able to say that you’ve had a date milkshake, it’s an easy stop from the freeway.

An old favorite, I remember getting a date shake coming back from Phoenix with my parents many years ago. They make the date shakes differently now but they are still tasty.

I think they should bulldoze the new building and move back to the old. Everyone would cheer. I know I would. It's so sad, what was taken away. From people that are supposed to honor the past, they dishonor it now with the new store, crummy shakes and high prices. Sigh!

Hadley’s used to be thee dried fruit and nut stop in this area. Apparently it was sold out a few years back and has now turned into a junk shop. Shields date farm in Indio is the iconic/landmark place to go!

Stopping at Hadley's has been a tradition for every trip to the desert. I hadn't traveled that way in a few years and was surprised to see Hadley's had left their old location and moved into a modern new building nearby.
I loved their rustic old location. It felt like a farmers market. Their date shakes were always a must have and the little hamburger stand in the front was delicious and authentic.
We stopped today for a date shake and a bite and I was sad that the old wonderful hamburger stand has been replaced with something that resembles a snack bar at Target. The burger didn't even seem like a real burger and the chili nachos were basically movie theater fair.
I have to still rate Hadley's a Very Good rating due entirely to the date shakes. They seem to have a more modern way of making them now but they were still yummy.
Come on Hadley's! Bring back your fresh made milk shake and hamburger stand.

Saw the billboard as we were driving by, stopped in and so glad we did. I have never had a date shake before and it was perfect. Also purchased some dates to takeaway. Would return in a heartbeat if in the area.

If you’re a date lover, you’ll love Hadley’s. Lots of other products like jsms and sauces. But, the best reason to stop at Hadley’s? Date shakes! They are the best. About $5 for a large shake. You’ll look forward to returning for another the next time you’re near Cabazon. The new store is very nice, but I miss the character of the old shop just next door.

Hello lovely Hadleys l was wondering, l buy great food products at your store, and l buy food at the little cafe inside the store, my question is, the old store is just still standing, why dosen't the family make it into a HADLEY 'S FAMILY STYLE RESTAURANT! and serve the products there. MANY people and families would frequent that restaurant by thy thousands, l know l would, People who stay at the hotels nearby would. Maybe you could contract a company to run it IF the family is not able or wanting to, just asking! Love you guys
