Really great wine bar. Nice layout, plenty of space good service and an excellent selection of wine. I think we were served by one of the managers which speaks well for their attention to service. We were there around five on a weekday and the after work crowd was starting to soar. When they open the windows on the front of the bar the entire place opens up. So if you get there early and the windows aren't open yet, sit at the front and wait. You will be glad you did. Prices are where they should be. Nothing crazy Nice selection of appetizers. We had the Stuffed Peppers and a couple glasses of a Petite Sirah. Our evening was made.

The Wine Bar is right in the middle of "downtown" Palo Alto, and is a great place to meet friends or hang out before dinner. There are three separate areas, so you can choose your space: tables out front (great for people watching), the main bar (great for a group) or the back room with comfy seats (much quieter than the main room, if you want to chat. Great for a date.) The wine selection isn't cheap (Palo alto), but is comprehensive. All in all, one of my favorite spots in town.

We came in after dinner for a glass of wine. The place is small but packed! The servers were very friendly and answered all our questions. If I had to say something negative, I wish the bathroom was somewhere else, it's in the area where your sit down and heavy traffic. But all in all we really enjoyed ourselves.

The wine selection is fabulous and the ambience fantastic. Love going on a winter night and sit by the fire. Couldn't be better.

The wine room sports a pretty impressive wine list, but more important is the ambience. Its decorated in a cozy home style setup with plush couches, TVs, soft lighting, and a lounge feel that is instantly relaxing. The only thing to watch for is the pricetag. Glasses here are VERY pricey, can often set you back up to $20+/pour, with no HH. So, generally its perfect for those who can expense it (typical clientele here are local business people till around 7, and couples till close)

Nice, cosy place downtown Palo Alto, where you can meet with friends informally or just pop in for a glass of wine and some snacks. Good selection of wine. We shared a bottle of Zinfandel with an acquaintance of ours and enjoyed also some snacks - olives and a mixture of nuts. Good friendly service.

The wine room has a nice neighborhood feel in what is becoming more commercial/generic/big brand downtown Palo Alto. The folks working there all seem to genially like what they do and know their wines, a great departure from places where the staff look barely old enough to serve and only seem to know a color difference--white or red.
The atmosphere is cozy--and if luck enough, you can get a seat at the window, or any of the couch space. I often drop by after work for a glass with friends and run into familiar faces, from the neighborhood or from my last visit. Its not a place to be seen, but a place to relax. My only criticism...the pours are small and the wines are pricey. Two glasses of a decent wine at the "minimum" pour is $30 to $35 and then tip; often finding a good glass under $15 is a challenge. Just be prepared to pay for the atmosphere, after all, it's Palo Alto.

we came to just lounge and enjoy a few glasses. atmosphere is great, like a cozy living room dimly lit. Service was great. good selection of wines, was surprised they carried beyond California wineries, but I stuck to the neighborhood.
