Everyone was friendly the pier is great, the whale watching tour was SPECTACULAR (for $45??!!). GO! I have often wondered WHY people would want to live in CA, but now I understand!

Parking very straightforward but a good walk from the beach proper and not terribly well signed; some parts have been modernised whilst others look tired. Beach can be a bit rowdy and boisterous in places.

I was born in Redondo Beach and it has changed drastically, so it is not far to review the area. It is very populated, and the pier is dirty and run down. The greatest sight to see was the Seawater pool, it has been there since the 1890s The first saltwater pool and it is wonderful for children.

Getting to the beach can be a challenge if you're by the pier as there is a mass of hotels and buildings. Parking is at a premium so grab a spot when you see one.
Fantastic bike lanes up and down Harbor Drive. The beach sand is wonderfully clean and lots of space to stretch out. There is a ton of eating options, most offering take out, so that is a great option

Came here with family after eating at Quality seafood, for a safe and beautiful stroll. The sunset was great and beach very clean.

Redondo Beach is a must to visit, my wife and I travel to California just so we can visit Redondo beach. Just one visit and you'll fall in love with this beach!

We had a great time with our two teenagers ages 14 and 18. We grabbed lunch at quality seafood and then headed for an open area with our leftover french fries where we can feed the seagulls. They will come and take french fries right out of your hand if you hold it high enough in the air! There are also ice cream places, peddle boats, souvenir shops, and of course the nice view of the ocean. It’s a great place to go and walk around.

We live on the beach in Redondo Beach year round. March and April are very nice months to visit. Weather generally ariund 18C albeit can be 25C or more at times. Has been a warm Fall/Winter so far with temps up to 32C+! Spring days on beach tend to be lovely if sunny and quiet. You may be alone in sunbathing. Water temps are cold, but perhaps not a cold as the Channel, North Sea, or the Atlantic so could be ok for you. Redondo Beach stores, restaurants, shopping areas, hotels, etc., are always open year-round. We have a very quaint area called Riviera Village that has many sidewalk cafes or restaurants, shops, and it is also just one block from the beach. We have a Pier with restaurants, shops, water activities like whale watching, paddle boarding, sailing, etc.. Adjoining Redondo Beach is the Palos Verdes Peninsula and it has a picturesque 17 mile coastal drive that ends in San Pedro where you can get an expansive view off Gaffey Street of Los Angeles harbor. Along this drive too there are small state parks, some tide pools, couple golf courses with full ocean views, a nature center, and lovely residential areas. Terrenea resort has an open terrace restaurant called Nelson’s on the cliff overlooking the ocean; bit dear but still, great place to have a drink or lunch along that coastal drive. Rent a car, you’ll need it. Redondo Beach is about 15-20 minutes south of LAX. I think you will have a fine time in March! Enjoy!

I'm going to have a long connection in LAX and will stay in El Segundo Area. Plan to take the metrolink to Redondo beach. Anything close to the station? (Walking) just want to relax after long flight.

Depending on how long your connection is, you can either take the bus, cab or Uber to the beach - I recommend Manhattan Beach and rent a bike and head South towards Hermosa and Redondo Beach (King Harbor) - nice place to walk around. Keep going till the end of the bike path towards Palos Verdes and there you will find a small cafe just to relax and enjoy the beach. It's a more relaxing side to past the time.
