This library has a decent resident selection and since they are tied to the rest of the Santa Clara city library service AND NOW, the Link+ group, it is much easier to get access to harder to find books.

During our recent 3 month stay with our son residing in Duke Court area, I visited Santa Clara Central park library several times, as it is just 1.5 miles away. Some days after lunch I used to walk down to library and then after 5 PM either my my son or daughter-in-law would pick me up to bring back home and some days they used to leave me and my wife there after lunch and then we would walk down to our house via Homestead road and Forbes avenue. During my earlier visits to US, we had visited libraries at San Jose, Redwood City and San Carlos where my son and daughter has been living earlier and daughter still lives in San Carlos, which also I visited this time. They are also very good libraries but Santa Clara library is the best, in my opinion. This library is known to have a huge collection of books, journals, children books, computers, CDs of almost all Asian and Spanish languages. Other libraries also have such collections but the main attraction of Santa Clara library its location in the Central park, a huge garden, which is very beautiful with water bodies, sports complex, swimming pool (where global tournaments are also held) and games for children. The library has 2 floors with stairs in the front as well back.There is a small restaurant also providing snacks and soft drinks. Process for issue and return of books is very smooth through computer. We were able to get some Hindi books and books on health and yoga, which are even not available in India. The rest rooms are also well maintained and clean with drinking water facility. The atmosphere inside is very calm and peaceful and books are well arranged. An excellent library amidst greens.Before returning to India I purchased some books, which were being sold by the library for just 0.75 dollars or 3 books in 2 dollars.

סיפריה ענקית שמשמשת גם כמרכז קהילתי גן עדן לילדים ולאזרחים ותיקים. בשעות הבוקר פעילות לאזרחים ותיקים כגון חדרי לימוד להרצאות וכן פעילות לקטנים שנשארו בבית. טלויזיות שמשדרות סרטים ספרים שאפשר לקרוא ולהקריא ופינות ישיבה. והכל בתוך סנטרל פארק

Doing some genealogical research, I was directed by my local library to come here. FYI - There are materials at this library that do not exist elsewhere...You can view them, but cannot check them out as they are historic documents and cannot leave the premises. BUT, you can photocopy or scan and email them to yourself. I love that! The front desk took the time to walk me upstairs to the research information desk, where she introduced me to the super nice lady who helped me tremendously. I explained what I was seeking, and she now walks me over to the exact location, and even helped me with locating some of the periodicals and research books. It was so fantastic to receive such attention and assistance. The library itself is gorgeous, and they have subterranean parking if you head over to the far right side. I will have to return soon, to investigate more than just my ancestry stuff. There is so much here! Thank you again to the women who helped with my research.

Very nice Library and big. I have a library card there. Use it to check out books and dvd's. Central Park right there. Nice place to have a lunch. Use the public computers to. Very cool. Yours truly Mike Ornelas.

The Central Park library is the best in Santa Clara. It had a huge collection of books, audio, video and other media spread over two floors. It has an indoor Cafe and a computer training/use center. Automated books and media checkout facility. Comic Con and other exhibitions occur here. Located right next to the Central Park and International Swim Center. Safeway is right across. Taco Bell and Popeyes is close by. Close to El Camino Real and San Tomas expressway.

I love public libraries for the variety of books it offers and a quiet place to browse and read books of interest. This place gets crowded after schools as kids spend their time doing homework and on weekends.
I have borrowed many books, fiction and non fiction, plus many movie dvd's. Love the place since it reopened after being rebuilt.
The Santa Clara park is right behind the library and one can take a leisurely walk after visiting the library

Good for both children and adults. Good way to spend a weekend afternoon. Just behind it is Central Park, in case your kids are feeling restless at the moment.

Wonderful ambience.
Lots of book selections.
Haven't fully checked it out as just visited it a couple of dats back.
Could they expand their newspaper catalogue to include international newspapers?
