I "used" to be a member here. Unfortunately I may still be a member, despite my attempts for the last 12 months to cancel my wine membership (only to be billed repeatedly every quarter after I had received confirmation that they canceled my membership and billing).
I liked the wines in the tasting rooms, but of the ones I bought 20% of them were corked. I moved out of state and none of the boxes of wines from the membership were sent to me. I was reimbursed for some--but they still owe me over $150 of wine or reimbursement.
They no longer answer the phone, return phone calls, and their main number and e-mail address does not work.
VERY unhappy. They need to get their products and management in order or stop doing business. Gives Central Coast wines a bad name. Avoid at all costs.

An old bank building houses Core's tasting room in Orcutt. The wines are blends made in the Rhone style and all of the ones we sampled were very good to excellent! It is a husband/wife affair and their wines are made from sourced grapes, with the wine making centered in Lompoc. (There is a tasting room in Lompoc also.) Our server was very knowledgeable, the tasting room serves as a hub for some community events, and features music the old-fashioned way-vinyl!

Well, I am very surprised by the ranking of this tasting room. We didn't like one wine we tasted and the ones we bought ended in the sink, I would not even cook with it.
You'd think it is stupid to buy wine we don't really enjoy, but we hoped to be lucky and we always by wines from the tasting rooms we visit to support our local community.

This is a relaxed, local family run tasting room. Their Candy Core. This place is a must stop if you are anyway near Santa Maria.

My wife and I make a trip to Santa Maria once or twice a year, and we always go by Core, because Dave makes some very good wine! He works with several varietals beyond the typical cab, pinot, chardonnay that one can find many places. He has many blends, all of which are worth trying, and he is good about letting the wine age before he bottles it. Dave and Becky are great fols doing a very good job!

I love this winery. It is hidden in the town of Orcutt, and off the beaten wine path, so to speak.
I first came across this winery about 10 years ago, when I had their late harvest Grenache called Candy Core, and have been a fan ever since. They have 4 different wine labels, made by different family members. I really like the Core labels myself. The Kuyam 13 Moons is really good too.
You really can't go wrong here. If you enjoy really good wines, this is the place for you.

Enjoyed talking to Becky and learning some history of the area. The wine tasting was pretty average. Limited white's with mostly reds. Good enough to try another tasting when they have the food available.

This was our first visit to this area. We started with this winery & we were so glad we did! The ladies that greeted us were delightful & had excellent wine as well! Being new to the area we asked a lot of questions & they steered us in the right direction! Their prices are great as well & we hit the Winery when they were having a sale! We will go back again when we are in the area. You won't be disappointed😎🍷

The tasting room for Core is in a 100 yr old former bank building in Old Orcutt. The wines were quite good, standouts being Hard Core, (a Rhone style red blend) and their Rose.

My wife and I visited the tasting room when vacationing in Santa Barbara in July. We met Dave, one of the owners, and had a great visit. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. He explained their extended barrel aging process and why their Rhone and Bordeaux blends are particularly unique in the Santa Barbara area. Our favorite bottles were the 2008 Hard Core and the 2007 Core Mister Moreved Alta Mesa (this one scored a 94 from The Rhone Report – completely deserved). We also joined the wine club and look forward to coming back this winter during our next trip to the area. This place is a great find. Probably our favorite tasting room in the Santa Barbara area.
