Most importantly we are glad you are well after your mishap. We take the operating condition of our rental bikes serious and maintain all our bikes. The same bike was rented earlier on Memorial day without any incedent (Yelp reviews can not be deleted). We try to educate all our customers on proper even application of preasure to both brakes to slow down. It is very unfortunate that this customer applied the front brake too forcefully while going around the bridge tower on a busy weekend. The brakes functioned properly when the customer left the shop and for the first 2 hours of the rental. The bike was returned with the brake cable housing removed from the frame. We have never encountered this happening before and tried to work with this custormer to find a solution.
